To Pledge To Being Bare

As we are now into the dawn of a new year, those reading here who have felt a curiosity about nudity but always hesitated about giving it a try, make a promise to yourselves now to experience it in 2019! If you’ve often wondered about being a bare practitioner (naturist or nudist), why just think about it? Give it a try! Better to learn if it’s something that you enjoy now rather than sit back and just think about it. There’s no time like the present!

All that’s involved is just shedding those cumbersome clothes. We all learn how to do that the minute we start to dress ourselves. Just take them off, fold them neatly and let the rest just happen. It doesn’t involve “rocket science.” It’s all about clothes freedom and just being yourself!

It makes no difference who you are (bisexual, gay, straight, transgender or queer) nor what you wear – anyone can enjoy the freedom that comes with simply being yourself inside your own skin! Be confident of yourself and the person that you are! Clothes don’tΒ alwaysΒ make the person, we all allow our personalities to take that message to others.

We are still in the infancy days of 2019, time forΒ ReNude PrideΒ to renew one of its purposes and offer nude encouragement to those reading here but remain uncomfortable in their own skin. After all, what good is there in publishing a blog celebrating the joys of being a bare practitioner (naturist or nudist) if not to periodically remind others or what they are truly missing in their lives?

Sometimes, we just have to grab the “bull-by-the-horns” in order for them to understand what it is they’re missing. Like the fun of shedding your swimsuit on the beach and skinny-dipping (swimming nude). Life, and fun, just doesn’t get any more basic than that!

We all are entitled to be proud of who we are. We are all entitled to be proud of our clothes freedom and of our nakedness. Most of the images that we see every day are of Caucasian people enjoying nudity. We also need to remember that in this country, for most of its history, the people were segregated by their skin color, gender and ability level. Just because a certain person isn’t visible doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

So, off we go with ten (count them) reasons why all of us should be clothes-free in 2019! A few of them just may surprise you! Before reading, I’ll supply a hint:Β “No! Sex is not one of the reason!”Β

10 Reasons To Be Nude

1. Burn More Body Fat

Our body’s main supply ofΒ brown adipose tissueΒ (BAT), or good fat cells, are located around our shoulder blades and neck. When our body is exposed to the elements and is cooler, the BAT proliferates and essentially killsΒ white adipose tissueΒ (bad fat cells). Not wearing any clothes helps promote this process and makes us healthier.

2. We’ll Become Comfortable With Who We Are

Being bare helps us to become comfortable in our own skin and enhances self-acceptance. Once we become accustomed to nudity, we increase our comfort in being nude around others (social nudity). Just imagine hosting a party andΒ notΒ worrying about what to wear!

3. It Saves Money

Being naked as often as possible reduces the need to laundry clothes as often as before. This eliminates detergent and electrical costs. Being a bare practitioner also lessens our need for new clothing as often as before. Clothes are now viewed in an entirely different perspective and now lose some of the importance we often attach to them.

4. Increases Our Immune System

Being bare and gaining exposure to the sun’s rays increases our body’s vitamin D levels. Vitamin D is directly related to our immune system (natural defense against diseases). With optimal levels of vitamin D, our immune system becomes impeccable and better equipped to fight against viruses, including the common cold and influenza (the flu).

5. We Face Our Fears And Overcome Them

Many people cringe, at the minimum, whenever the phrase “get naked” is mentioned or referenced. Most are so afraid of nudity – and children especially are ingrained with this notion – that they bury this beneath layers of negative images and misconceptions about the bare human body. However, when we discard these acquired behaviors (we areΒ notΒ born with these fears) as we discard our clothes, our body-image and our body self-acceptance rebounds.

6. We Feel Better Wearing Clothes

Whenever weΒ doΒ wear clothes (because not everyone has accepted being nude in public) we start to choose clothing that accentuates the parts of our body that we admire. Therefore, we both look and feel better wearing clothing.

7. Embrace Vulnerability

When we open ourselves or expose ourselves (sorry. no pun intended), it’s natural for us to have fear and worry. Nudity is an opportunity for us to embrace and welcome being vulnerable. It allows us to think and get to the core of what really matters and what is, indeed, important to us. Once we do this, we gain the confidence to confront other challenges and overcome anything that comes our way.

8. Show your reality

There are many different options for accentuating or altering our true (real) body image when we choose to wear clothing. There are some people who decide to change their body image to the extreme that they actually fear getting naked with the person that they love. With the widespread availability of a variety of altering products (breast-enhancing bras, Spanx items, buttocks enhancements, etc.) that some people are almost unrecognizable from their clothes-free selves. This “false” or misleading impression isn’t compatible with body-acceptance ideals and being comfortable of the “real” self. If a person truly does love you, then they should not love you solely upon your projected image.

9. You will have fun

It’s a simple premise. When we’re accepting and comfortable with our bare body and view it as good, then life is better. We start to realize that weΒ areΒ beautiful and are willing to do more that we probably would not have done otherwise – with or without our clothes. We find ourselves conqueringΒ challenges and trying new experiences. Our self-esteem is enriched.

10. Lights-On Intimacy

Many people believe less lighting is better when intimate with their sexual or romantic partner. It’s not a new concept, after all, it’s been around almost as long as having sexual relations. But if no one has ever tried sharing intimacy with the lights on, how do they know its better with less lighting? Who knows, making love may be unbelievably superlative when experienced using better lighting!

I’m not so obsessed with social nudity that I lose my mind. I am not so naive to not realize that embracing our nakedness isn’t something that everyone can do. There are some who would be completely miserable if they awoke tomorrow morning and discovered that the entire world was clothes-free. I get that and accept that fact.

However, in closing here, I would like to offer this thought:

Take off your clothes and try nudity before its too late!

Naked hugs!

  1. First, “Happiest Anniversary”, Roger…to this most awesome blog, ReNude Pride!😊
Second: As usual, I always enjoy your writings about the joys of being nude/naked! I think it’s a shame that so many people are still “hung up” or feel uncomfortable if not prudish either about seeing the nudity of other adult people or worse, feel that way about seeing their own nudity – even when they are alone in their own home! Sadly, many people who don’t practice nudity (and who also don’t sleep naked) in their own home are sorely missing out. It’s simply something that I don’t think I will ever understand! But…whatever!

CHECK IT: I AM a proud and shameless nudist. If I again had my own house and backyard, and/or the opportunity to regularly visit a nude beach or nudist colony I’d be nude outside too…which of course, would make me a… naturist!
Everyday I sleep in my bed completely naked. I also sleep nude in the bed wherever I’m spending the night when away from home. I’ve been sleeping naked since I was a child. Unless there are guests (who aren’t my sex partners) visiting me, I’m often nude in my home. I’ll wear a robe when I feel cool or cold but am always nude under it. And though I no longer have the physique of a man who is thirty to forty years younger, I still think myself sexiest when I’m nude. I’m not much concerned about my middle-aged body’s appearance, et al. I simply feel GOOD being ….naked!
Finally, when I have to actually wear clothes out in public, I feel that FREEBALLING (aka “going commando”) – which I normally do when wearing a pair of jeans or shorts, and/or in warmer months, when wearing slides (NEVER WITH SOCKS!!!) or flip-flops, and/or when wearing shorts and short sleeve or sleeveless shirts is…at least for me, the closest I can get to “feeling” nude.
If you don’t mind, Rog, I’d like to invite your readers to peer more into my attitude and experience about nudity by reading my 2-part blog article, “The Freedom of Nudity”. That article is now six years old. While a “long read” and not a “masterpiece”, it was one of the first writings I published when I first started blogging. I remain quite proud of it. (Please pardon any found errors of grammar or syntax.)

    1. Rob, I always remember that article. It was the first blog posting of yours that I ever read and I do reference it quite a bit. I have it listed on my Nudist Resources page. Little did you know when you posted those two that you’d end up with a “follower for life!” πŸ˜‰

  4. Gosh, this is very inspiring! I must admit that nudity frightens me a little bit-I think it is the vulnerability that is attached to it for me. So much respect and admiration for those confident enough in their own bodies though!
