I offer to all of you a sincere apology for not publishing here yesterday, Monday, January 13, 2020. The reason for the absence was a very last-minute disaster at my job that was unforseen and beyond my control. I wasn’t made aware of the situation until it was too late to update my draft for the regular entry. My presence at my office was deemed immediate and absolutely essential.
Initially, the cause of the emergency was thought to be a roof leak that created flooding on our hallway. My office was presumed to be flooded as well. I was needed on site as soon as possible in order for damage assessment, inventory and to prepare for work-space adjustments. I had no time at all on Monday between relocating salvageable furniture, resources, instructional materials and supplies and having all of this moved to my new temporary office site.
My office computer wasn’t determined to be workable until late yesterday afternoon. By the time that it was returned to my relocated space, I was too overwhelmed to even think about adding a delayed posting. Because I had to report to work earlier than usual, I was dressed in sweatpants and sweatshirt – not my usual office attire. My laptop was at home.
I generally ride the subway into work. The emergency made me drive to campus and I actually rode the subway home that night – I had forgotten that I had to drive my car. I hope that I can remember not to make the same mistake today when I leave the office!
Once again, I’m sorry for not posting anything yesterday!
Naked hugs!

Actually, my computer wasn’t too affected. However, some of my colleagues were virtually destroyed.

No need for any apologies. Most if not all of us have been in the work world and situations can arise as did with you. Things happen.
Thanks for all the hard work you do for us and the joys you share.
