Fetish: Feet and Toes

This isn’t a posting strictly about being same gender loving (gay) or nudity. It’s about the attraction that some people have towards the feet and/or toes of another. The topic is definitely related to nudity because as bare practitioners (nudists), naked feet are a frequent occurrence and a common sight in our world. This topic has fascinated me, partly, I guess, because I never completely understood it. I mean, feet are feet, right? They’re used for walking from one place to another.

I’ve noticed people fondling each other’s feet. I’ve even observed some sucking the toes of others. I never thought about it too much until maybe ten years ago when I dated a man who openly admitted to having a “foot fetish” on our second or third date. We were at a clothes-free pool party of a friend and he (sorry, I can’t remember his name) noticed my bare feet and complimented me on them. Then he followed that up with his confessing to his foot obsession.

I honestly didn’t know how to react to his admission. Naturally I said, “Thank you.”  Aside from that innocuous reply, I was uncertain as to what else was expected from me. I recall that I didn’t return the compliment as I had never bothered to look at his feet. How could I say: “you do, too.” I couldn’t describe his feet if he asked. The incident made me feel uncomfortable. Here we were at a nude pool party with perhaps a dozen bare men and my date chose to notice my feet. With all the exposed skin available, my feet happened to catch his eye.

Later, in relaying this exchange to a friend of mine, I inquired as to his thoughts. I felt awkward and embarrassed over how I handled the situation. My friend reassured me that I had reacted honestly and not to worry about it. He then remarked that there are some who have a fondness for feet and toes. “Google it if you don’t believe me.” he added.

I did and he was entirely correct.

Podophilia (not to be confused with pedophilia) or foot fetish is defined as a pronounced sexual attraction or interest in feet. It is the most common form of fetishism for non-sexual body parts and is more prevalent in men than women. Extensions of this affinity include shoes and tickling.

I continued to date my man for several weeks after the pool party. He did give me foot massages a couple of times. He even sucked a few of my toes. However, I couldn’t reciprocate. We didn’t date much after that. Our summer fling ended shortly thereafter.

Funny thing about that courtship experience. Ever since, I now notice a man’s feet!
