Bottom’s Up! End of December, 2018

As difficult as it is to believe, we’re now at the end of yet another calendar year and the end of December, 2018. That means it’s time to post a Bottom’s-Up! tribute not only for December but for all of 2018, as well. The man in the image above demonstrates what many of us are feeling this time of the year. Serious fatigue of the past year and the need for a serious rest to face the adventures and challenges as we embark into a new one. This unfortunate soul is unable to muster the energy to finish crossing the stream without taking a brief nap!

Before The Year Ends…

Before the Winter Holiday season ends and the New Year’s Eve festivities begin, it is important for each and every one of us to make plans to safely usher in 2019. New Year’s Eve is one of the major party events of the calendar year. Many of us enjoy and eagerly anticipate of welcoming a new year in the company of our family, friends or both. For some it is a custom or tradition and for others it is a reunion and renewal of contacts with those we rarely see.

Happy Holidays!

For all those reading ReNude Pride and observing tomorrow as a day of special religious or secular significance, I wish each of you the best for a safe and Happy holidays! If you’re travelling, please be careful. Always keep in mind that the use of alcohol or drugs impairs judgment and affects our ability to drive, among other motor skills. Stay well and stay alive!

We’re At War!

December is one of those rare months during the calendar year that offers a profusion of holidays. So much for “hot fun in the summertime” as here in the Northern Hemisphere, usually the opposite is true. However, our same gender loving (gay) and bisexual brothers in the Southern Hemisphere have the opportunity to enjoy both the festivities and the warm weather simultaneously! “Go for the gold, Down Under!” You now are responsible for enjoying the season for all the rest of us!

Bare Contemplation

Occasionally, I am accused by some of “overthinking” a particular topic or issue. What I believe others are trying to communicate with me is that at times, I allow myself to dwell on a subject that isn’t worth all the energy and time that I devote to it. Take ReNude Pride for instance. Yes, I do put a conscious effort in planning, developing and composing this site – after all, it is my site. I’m the man who signs (types) his name to every post and signs off every composition with wishing “naked hugs” to everyone who reads here.

Socialization Required!

There has to be a better method to gather together a very diverse and sometimes dysfunctional community of academics to socially interact with one another. The president of my university this year sent out a very disturbing and somewhat insulting memorandum to all staff entitled: “Mandatory Holiday Luncheon.” In it, this generally respected and revered leader bemoaned the fact that the annual presidential holiday luncheon, held every December, has suffered from declining attendance and disinterest. Therefore, this year’s gathering, held earlier this week, was mandatory.

Autumn Leaves: Bare Model

For those readers here who’ve followed ReNude Pride for awhile, you already know that as an undergraduate student at university, I posed bare (naked, nude, without clothing) to earn some extra spending money. The job was for the art classes and photography classes at my university. The pay was good and the work wasn’t too demanding or difficult – all I had to do essentially was take off my clothes – which was fine for me. I had no issues being bare – and the same is true today!

Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

The above image shows the sinking of the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor.

December 7, annually, was formerly known as Pearl Harbor Day from 1942 until 1993. It was observed in the USA as a day to remember all of the lives lost during the airborne attack by the Empire of Japan on the U.S. Pacific fleet anchored at Pearl Harbor in the then-U.S. territory of the Hawaiian Islands (since 1959, the U.S. State of Hawaii). As the event occurred without a formal declaration of war, the effects of the bombardment were catastrophic and the loss of life severe.

Southern Hemisphere Bare Salute!

As we in the Northern Hemisphere begrudgingly prepare to weather the horrors of the 2018 – 2019 Winter, I feel it is only fitting to par homage and tribute to all of our bare counterparts in the Southern Hemisphere as they joyfully prepare to frolic into their well deserved Summer-time. After all, they have been patient with me as I gloat over our past two summers – I should at least recognize their patience and tolerance and offer them their due. After all, fair is only fair when it works both ways!

World AIDS Day, 2018

World AIDS Day turns 30 years old today. The very first global commemoration to raise awareness of the HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), the virus that causes AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) was observed on December 1, 1988 – seven years into the struggle against HIV/AIDS. Normally, this type of anniversary would be a cause of celebration. However, the fact that humanity still suffers from this disease is no reason for jubilation. Yes, we have had a few remarkable successes in fighting this pandemic; but the fact remains that we continue to lose both lives and talent.
