The earth slowly begins the hemispheric shift of the sun’s rays from north to south now. Time to offer a gentle reminder to us all on the value of sunscreen – no matter where we live or what season we’re involved. A little effort enhances the health and safety of ourselves and our skin! A minimum effort now helps to prevent endless pain and suffering (or worse) in the future!
A common misconception is that sunscreen is only beneficial for light-skinned – Caucasian – people. It has been proven time and time again that sunscreen is essential for all races of humanity. One person’s skin tone does not make her/him immune to skin cancer or skin disease. We are all susceptible and vulnerable, although our individual levels of tolerance may vary.

One common myth that persists about sunscreen use is that it is only needed to be applied during the summer. The proven medical and scientific determination is that sunscreen is vital whenever we are exposed to the sun’s rays, no matter the season of the year. The radiation intensity of sunlight occurs all year long.
Living in the east coast mid-Atlantic region of the USA, Aaron and I are sunscreen users when in winter as well as summer. Our skin quality deserves more than just a summertime attention!
