Typical to the entire naturist/nudist community and culture: the approach of another summer season in the Northern Hemisphere renews the “great debate” over the labels and terms that we use to describe ourselves. My personal feeling? I don’t think the debate will ever resolve and this disagreement will last until the end of time.
Confusion surrounds what some purists (perfectionists) continuously argue as appropriate/inappropriate (good/poor) terminology.
Naked?
Nude?
Naturist?
Bare?
Body freedom?
Clothes freedom?
Natural?
I prefer sunbathing bare.
In the summer, we’d rather be natural!
I am standing naked in the sunlight!
I enjoy the water nude!
SYNONYMOUS? INTERCHANGEABLE?
I’d rather wear nothing whatsoever!

I couldn’t agree more. Why make an issue of a non-issue. What’s important is respect across the board, fun, gratitude and pleasure. Labels are what we find on clothing. Isn’t that kind of thinking ironic for people who desire to be out of clothes?!…:)
