There’s an old American adage or proverb that states “A penny for your thoughts?” This quote is sometimes attributed to Benjamin Franklin and refers to the penny as cash-currency and at the time of Mr. Franklin was a substantial coin. However, inflation ensued and today it takes 100 pennies to equal one dollar ($USD) so in terms of actual value, a penny is almost useless.
In selecting the above quotation as my theme for this initial post here on ReNude Pride, I’m not soliciting any money from anyone (not that anyone would consider paying me) but rather introducing my thoughts or reasons for beginning this blog or online journal. Before I state the purpose of this site, I’ll explain the meaning of the title, ReNude Pride.
The “renude” portion of the name is a “play-on-the-word” “renewed,” which means rebirth, rejuvenation or renewal. Most of us, at birth, as infants and as toddlers, are inherently immodest or unconcerned with being seen naked or nude by others. Modesty and/or “body-shame” is a learned trait or characteristic taught to us by authority figures or the important adults in our lives. It is an acquired behavior.
The “pride” portion of the title refers to our sense of self-value or self-worth. It is our confidence in ourselves as humans. As young children, we all have an inflated sense of self-importance as we see the world as revolving around us as individuals. After all, we are the center of our parent’s attention and their lives. It is only as we mature that we learn and comprehend the knowledge that this is not the case. We begin to appreciate our place in society. We realize that we are all members of a broader culture and we come to understand and (hopefully) accept our particular role or place within our culture.
The name of this online journal, ReNude Pride, refers to our rebirth or renewal of confidence in ourselves and our nudity as mature adults. By doing so, we can celebrate and enjoy the beauty of being clothes-free and proud in a predominantly materialistic, consumer-driven and fashion-obsessed world.
The goal or purpose (some call this a “mission”) of ReNude Pride is to encourage, promote and support a renude (renewed) pride among naturists/nudists of all persuasions and sexualities.
I hope to achieve this goal by offering this blog as an online tool expressing my thoughts and perspectives as a same gender loving (gay) bare practitioner (nudist). The comments and insights of those reading here will provide a variety of reactions and increase awareness of the diversity of our naked/nude culture.
Additionally, I hope this publication serves as a resource to anyone, in general. and gay men, in particular, interested in exploring clothes-free living and/or social nudity. I’ll share my personal experiences in nakedness and invite other bare practitioners, who are friends, to do the same.
A comments section is included with each post entry, Please use it to convey your thoughts, criticisms, suggestions and ideas about this site. All are welcome here!
Naked hugs!

My friend and fellow bare brother, thank you for taking the time to post a comment here and to visit my “new” blog. How long I’ll be here is anyone’s guess. I’ll keep it up as long as the powers-that-be allow! Naked hugs, man!

Excellent return to blogging. Welcome back!
I would offer a penny for my thoughts but as a Canadian we have long since done away with our penny.
I look forward to reading your future blogs. As naturists and same gender loving men we need a forum such as this to express ourselves in a positive light.

I was beginning to wonder if you realized or remembered me, Fabien! I never left blogging, after my first blog was deleted, I used another format and wrote elsewhere for the interim. I’m glad to see you’re still posting here. Naked hugs, my talented and nude brother!
