Those Moments In March!

It is almost unbelievable! Yet, when we sit back and think about it, the reality is very difficult to discredit. March may indeed be a month of madness but the bromantic (brotherhood of romance) moments during this time of the year are very few and very…unknown! Aaron, my spouse and I were trying to identify a passionate play-date for this month over the weekend and we were unable to recall a single occasion!

It seems that every other month of the entire year has at least one day for bromance (brotherhood of romance) except March. It was then that I decided to publish this piece and ask the inevitable question: “Does anyone have a reason for romance for March?”

Certainly, simply being alive and together is reason enough to celebrate every day. The happiness that being in a relationship is enough proof that romance between two men does not need a specific special day to encourage love and romance. That should happen on each and every day.

Some couples actually need to enjoy a designated day for bromance! As difficult as it may seem, if the date is not officially recognized, then it isn’t appreciated or celebrated. It is like the couple, themselves, cannot decide on a day and make it happen.

Fortunately, my spouse, Aaron, and I have no problem in our household in observing a special bromantic occasion. We try to have at least one day each week as our designated “time together.” Aaron’s work schedule varies from week-to-week so rather than select one day as our day, the day is different on a weekly basis.

This gives us the opportunity to flex our days and the freedom to take advantage of a variety of activity options offered on different days. It also provides us a chance to be with other couples who may not enjoy a schedule variation!

Perhaps what is desperately needed during the month of March is a day that we devote exclusively to bromance (the brotherhood of romance). A day that we can all enjoy in just being ourselves with one another!
