In the USA, October is the month dedicated to increasing awareness of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer communities (GLBTQ) collective history. Throughout this entire month, there is a concerted focus on celebrating the achievements and contributions of these communities in both the past and present. In doing so, we hope to guarantee the success of those undertaking accomplishments in the future. Educating others on the many challenges overcome by the GLBTQ individuals in the history of this country and its institutions, both state, sacred and legal, is viewed as one method of attaining this goal.

Nude Is Not Lewd
Often, we see many professional athletes, who are paid enormous and outrageous amounts of money get physical with one another to reward a job-well-done. In both the National Basketball Association (NBA) and in the National Football Association (NFL), countless team-mates give each other a pat or a slap on their buttocks in a congratulatory gesture of goodwill and friendship. Even coaches do the same as a show of support to their players and a way of offering encouragement. No one complains of bodily harm, excessive violence, sexual harassment or indecency.
Bottoms-Up! July, 2017
Congratulations! Today is the final day of July, 2017. It is also the end of the first full month of Summer! You’ve survived! Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!
Today Is Gay Nudists Day!
To the best of my knowledge, there is no official government proclamation in any country designating today as Gay Nudists Day (also known as Gay Naturists Day) . For almost as long as I’m able to remember, that’s just what today is: a date to celebrate being a same gender loving man who prefers clothes-freedom. To be honest, I’m uncertain as to who informed me of this observance. One instance does remain set in my mind. I was once a member of a gay nude social club in the Washington, D.C. area, Lambda Soleil (since inactive). It was the oldest club of gay naturists/nudists in the Washington region (organized in the early 1980’s) and every year they communally observed this occasion.
Awakening: When You Know You’re Gay
Author’s Note: This post is not offered as a scientific study of same gender loving (gay) attraction. It contains no empirical references nor evidence save that experienced within my own family. It is a personal perspective on being aware of same-sex attraction and is published here on my ReNude Pride blog as a way of celebrating the month of June as the traditional recognized Gay Pride Month here in the USA.
Unity In Our Nudity
The same gender loving (gay) community is often criticized as being racist and elitist. Unfortunately, I can think of numerous instances where this is indeed true and have experienced this myself as a Deaf man and as a man who is married to another man of a different race. Aaron, my husband, has seen many cases where this was true both before we met and since we’ve been together. In the interest of fairness, we remind ourselves that the gay community is merely a reflection of the broader mainstream culture and not an exclusively homocentric (gay-focused) attribute.
June Is GLBTQ Nude Pride Month
Although Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (GLBTQ) Month varies from city-to-city, country-to-country, the official designation for Pride Month, in the USA, is June, annually. Ever since the Stonewall Inn riots, which happened on the evening of June 27 – 28, 1969, this month has held a special place in this community’s collective history. That riot at that small, obscure gay bar, located in the Greenwich Village neighborhood in Manhattan, New York City, USA, is recognized across the world as the spark that ignited the long struggle for equal rights for all GLBTQ people, no matter where they live.
USA: Memorial Day
Today, Monday, May 29, 2017, is the Memorial Day holiday in the USA. This is the date, officially observed on the last Monday in May, annually, where all the men and women who sacrificed their lives in the defense of this country are honored and remembered. It is tradition to decorate the graves of the fallen with an American flag that symbolizes a grateful nation saluting all heroes.
Same Gender Love: Publicly Kissing
I don’t know how many times I’ve seen opposite gender (heterosexual) loving couples publicly kissing. I’ve seen it in the movies (cinema), theatres, at the beach, in the supermarket, walking down the street, in the park, etc. It has happened to often that I can’t count the number of times or the number of places where it has occurred. Every time I see it, I think to myself: “Sweet. They’re in love.” I’m happy for them and myself, also.
Black and White Men Together
On both my “About“ (click to view) page and through my postings here on ReNude Pride, I’ve written extensively of my husband, Aaron, and our lives together. What may, or may not, be known by others is that we are a multiracial couple. Aaron is African-American (black) and I am Greek (white). Race was never an issue for either one of us, nor our families, although we have encountered racism when we first lived together and since we’ve been married.
