Bare Man Blogging

The title may be somewhat misleading, so I’ll begin here by explaining exactly what I mean. I sometimes get emails from occasional or infrequent readers of ReNude Pride, or my previous blog, A Guy Without Boxers, asking do I really write “in the buff” (naked) and what do I write about once I’ve encouraged people to try the clothes-free life. They are curious as to how someone can be a bare practitioner (naturist/nudist), who writes a blog all year long on nudity and have ample subject material.

My answer to their inquiries is usually the simple one. Yes, I compose these postings, whenever possible, while I’m not clothed. In my mind, it would be absurd and ridiculous to be the author of a blog about  nudity and always be textile (clothed) while I’m writing. To me, and I’m sure others, that wouldn’t make me a very credible instrument for espousing the naturist/nudist lifestyle. Besides, if I always wore clothes, I wouldn’t consider myself a nudist. In fact, I’d be a hypocrite if that were, indeed, the case.

The second part of the inquiry becomes a little complicated so please bear (bare) with me – pun intended! I write not only about the benefits and joys of being nude but also about my life and life experiences while clothes-free. Confining myself to just relating the benefits and niceties of being a bare practitioner would be very boring, not only for readers, but for me as well. The fact that I believe that nudity is great and wonderful can be understood in this one sentence. To constantly repeat that message, ad infinitum, would be redundant – overkill.

Living naked whenever possible isn’t all that remarkable an accomplishment. Most of us remove our clothes without ever even thinking about it. It doesn’t require a rocket scientist. It stands to reason that consciously being naked doesn’t involve much thought beforehand and so those of us who enjoy nudity are doing so because we’re comfortable and relaxed without the annoying covering that some use to hide behind. We live our lives just as others (the textile) do – only clothes-free.

In sharing my experiences while practicing my preference for nakedness, I hope that readers will see how ordinary being a naturist/nudist really is. Being bare in normal life situations isn’t extraordinary or life-changing and it can, at times, lead to some very hilarious and interesting predicaments. Identical to the lives of the clothes-wearing population only ours is without the concealing garments. It’s in allowing others to see that there’s very little difference in all our lives that will (hopefully) lead us to an understanding between the bare and the textile communities.

In giving an everyday picture of the naturist/nudist experience, I hope that many who are considering trying social nudity will decide to follow their curiosity, undress and give it a try.  Better to step out of your clothes now than procrastinate and have to look back and wonder about it later. You’ll never really know until you do! That is one of the secondary reasons for publishing ReNude Pride. To offer a resource for those who seek an understanding of the lives of social nudists and what being a bare practitioner (nudist) entails.

There have been a few occasions when I have composed a posting for ReNude Pride and my previous blogs wearing clothes. If I have used my laptop or netbook to write or edit an entry while riding the subway to work or have edited a piece while actually at my job, I’m textile (clothes wearing). My university is not a clothing-optional work-space. Our funding is appropriated by the U.S. Congress and the dress code is unlikely to change.

Now, as to the material for this blog, it is very nudecentric (nude focused) but it isn’t exclusively a nudist blog. I also post articles on being a same gender loving man (gay) and that aspect of my life. Sometimes the topics are both gay and nude focused and sometimes they may be singularly gay-focused. It all depends on the message or theme and how my creativity flows.

There may come a time when I post a subject here that is neither gay nor nudity inspired. I don’t foresee that happening, but there’s always that possibility.

I always welcome readers to share their reactions here in using the comments application that accompanies each post. Whether positive or negative, this enables me to gauge the topics that others may or may not appreciate. I’m not easily offended and am always receptive to suggestions on improvement.
