This “Friday Footnote” post I’m publishing here a day early, Thursday. I’ve already composed my “Bare GLBTQ History Month” feature for tomorrow (Friday). Rather than update or trying to re-schedule, it is far easier for me to publish this now. Many of you commented and/or contacted me on Anthony Lynn Douglas’ arrest in New York City in early September at the petition signing for his Bare Body Freedom movement rally in Times Square. He and others were permitted by the New York City to be completely bare at that rally.
I promised an update to concerned ReNude Pride readers and other interested individuals. Yesterday afternoon, I received an email announcement and I’m sharing it below in its entirety. To read the original post, please click here to be directed.
“I received a letter from the Midtown Community Court today stating that the NYPD had not yet filed paperwork with them and that I did not need to appear.
I know that some of you were planning to be there and I want you to know that I am genuinely grateful to you for your courage and continued support.
I will be canceling the event on November 21 but will be sharing information about the arrest, why it occurred and how I can deter it in the future.
Sincerely,
Ton
If and when I receive any additional updates, I will post them here.
Naked hugs!
