The Northern Hemisphere’s Spring season officially began yesterday, March 19, at 11:50 p.m.! That makes today the official first full day of Spring, 2020! It will be a full 24 hours of the new season as of midnight tonight! For those living in the Southern Hemisphere, this is their first full day of Autumn, 2020! So no matter where anyone lives, a new season is now upon us all!
Usually, the seasonal transition occurs either on March 21 or 22; this year marks the earliest seasonal transition in more than 100 years! The last time was in March, 1896 – 124 years ago!
The seasonal change doesn’t guarantee any of us an overnight change in our outdoor temperatures, it does serve to remind us that those days aren’t necessarily that far away! Soon, we’ll be able to enjoy the freedom and sunshine while completely bare! Happy days are almost here again!
