Aaron and Roger!

Tomorrow (Saturday) is our 11th Anniversary!

Marriage equality had just become legal here in the USA the year prior to us surrendering ourselves to pressure from both sets of parents and solemnizing our commitment in a civil ceremony. Aaron is Roman Catholic and I am Greek Orthodox and neither church recognize same gender unions. But that offence did not prevent nor stop our love for one another!

A bromantic kiss!

The non-recognition of our civil marriage by the ecclesiastical institutions in no way hindered our love for one another nor the enthusiasm of all four of our parents over the ceremony. Actually, the discrimination from the religious community radically raised the support from our extended families for our marriage!

Perhaps we should express our sincere gratitude to both the Patriarch of Constantinople and the Pope of Rome for their endorsement of our union!
