When I first saw these video clips, my thoughts were returned to an earlier time in my life when I falsely assumed it was my ordained mission in my life to convert the entire universe into practicing nudity. I envisioned someday being canonized the Patron Saint of All Naturists/Nudists Forever, Amen. You may commence the celestial angelic drum-roll now, if you please! Admittedly, I was young and foolish but at least I was thinking big and trying to find a worthy cause to champion. Alas, reality set in by the time that I graduated secondary school and I eventually became a professor.

As I sit here in front of my laptop I am trying, yes, sincerely trying, to find something uplifting and flag-waving to post about today’s USA holiday. Unfortunately, I’m just not able to find any type of inspirational reason to wave a flag. Since the last national election, I’ve found it easier to be be embarrassed and humiliated over living in this country than I’ve found ever in my entire life. Yes, I was born here, but to Greek parents. And my parents legally migrated here after World War II but upon my father’s retirement, returned to their homeland, Greece.
Skinny-Dipping Photos
As unbelievable as it may seem to some, there are instances where we may encounter a less-than-blissful skinny-dipper (naked or nude swimmer). More often than not, there are usually extenuating circumstances that create this anomaly. Most people are sublimely relieved to be experiencing clothes-freedom and a leisurely swim simultaneously. When we think of recreational swimming, it is associated with freedom from stress and other worldly cares and responsibilities. It is, under normal situations, an activity that is performed after our toils and professional duties are long over.
Happy Canada Day!
One doesn’t necessarily have to be Canadian to celebrate Dominion of Canada Day. This international day honoring the maple leaf (the leaf silhouetted on the flag) is open and welcoming to everyone (unlike its neighbor to the south). This observance commemorates the enactment of the British North America Act on July 1, 1867, which officially united the colonies of Canada (then just Ontario and Quebec), Nova Scotia and New Brunswick into the larger, autonomous Dominion of Canada. It is celebrated as the national holiday of Canada (although with today being Sunday, tomorrow is also a holiday).
Bottoms-Up! June, 2018
Thankfully, Summer, 2018, has officially arrived, as of June 21! The fun-filled season of sand, surf and sun is here throughout the Northern Hemisphere. Once again, it’s time to get outside and bare our buttocks, warm our bums and enjoy the good times. As much as we all hate to admit it, it won’t be long before we have to put on our clothes as another winter approaches. I know this prospect of a seasonal change is welcome news to our bare brethren in the Southern Hemisphere.
Reflections: End of June, 2018
We are now facing the end of June, 2018 – and the end of another wonderful month of GLBTQ Nude Pride. Reflection means many things to almost every person, it even has multiple definitions for every one of us. The image above depicts three different men holding a mirror. However, upon close inspection, only one image is reflected on the mirror itself. Yet that image isn’t one of the men above. So the question then becomes: Who’s image is it? And that answer we may never know.
National HIV Testing Day
Today is National HIV Testing Day in the USA and some other parts of the world. Observed on June 27, annually, this date is designated to remind us all of the importance of knowing our HIV status and in doing so, enhance our health. HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, is no longer the life-threatening condition that it once was and through treatment and medication, it is now a manageable disease. It remains, however, a communicable infection with serious consequences if untreated. That is the reason testing for HIV is very important to our health.
ReNude Pride This Week
This week is the final week of June, 2018. It is also the last week of 2018 GLBTQ Nude Pride Month. I am making a slight change in my publishing schedule for this week so as to accommodate all the necessary posts that should be covered before we begin a new month. This revised schedule is effective this week only, as hopefully, afterwards, I can return to the usual Monday and Friday posting routine. If anyone finds the time this week, please read the posts here. I will publish (today) this post, Wednesday (National HIV Testing Day), Thursday (annual Stonewall Riots anniversary), Friday (monthly Reflections post) and Saturday (Bottom’s-Up!).
Friday Footnote: GLBTQ Proud Veteran
I remember the day well. It was December, 2010, and the breaking news of the day was that then-President Barack Obama, the 44th president of the USA, had just signed an important piece of historical legislation. When his signature was affixed to the act, the centuries-old ban of allowing gays, lesbians and bisexuals to openly serve in the U. S. military forces was officially ended. Keeping to his campaign promise, President Obama put an end to another chapter in government sanctioned discrimination.
First Day of 2018 Summer!
It is now official, today is June 21, the Summer Solstice. The Summer of 2018 is now underway and this is the time to get outside, get out of those cumbersome clothes and enjoy life! This season will not last forever so promise yourself to make each moment last! Whatever your plans are for the season, don’t forget that sunscreen is essential for happiness and health! Remember the sunglasses. The sun’s at its peak this time of year (in the Northern Hemisphere) and the ultra-violet sun-rays can seriously damage the eyes!
