October 11: Coming Out Day

October 11, annually, is Coming Out Day a time for all gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer (GLBTQ) people to open the closet (secret hiding place) door and step out into the world as a proud member of the GLBTQ community. National Coming Out Day is observed on October 11, in the USA and is also celebrated on October 12, in other countries throughout the world. The term “coming out” is used when persons who are GLBTQ take the steps to let others know of their sexual orientation.

USA: October Is GLBTQ History Month

In the USA, October is celebrated as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (GLBTQ) History Month. This observance is a time when many educators use the opportunity to share highlights with their students of personalities and events throughout history, both contemporary and from the past, that involved or were affected by members of our community. In some instances, the lives of some of the persons featured are historic simply because of their accomplishments and achievements. This observance helps to eradicate the myth that our community is simply a modern phenomenon.

Bottoms-Up! End of September, 2018

September is a short month having only 30 days instead of the usual 31. I know this yet every year, it seems to fly past without me able to get accustomed to identifying the correct month without a pause to consider. Therefore, it’s time again for another Bottoms-Up! post only this go around, it is the first posting of the season of Autumn, 2018 for us in the Northern Hemisphere and for those living in the Southern, it is the first post of your Spring!

Autumn, 2018

The seasonal change from Summer into Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere isn’t as obvious or pronounced as it appears in the above image. Overnight, the grasses didn’t suddenly fade as they did in the picture but like it or not, the seasons have started to transition from one into the other. Before the passage of many more days, we’ll all begin to notice the thinning of the foliage and the dropping of the outdoor temperatures. The reality is that the days for outside nudity are seriously numbered.

Summer Photo-Blog: Hello/Goodbye

This is one of the few times of the year when I’m able to write a seasonal post that I don’t feel any guilt. During most times, while the Northern Hemisphere on earth is enjoying the Summer, those residing in the Southern Hemisphere are enduring their Winter. That makes it somewhat difficult when composing a post that’s relevant for all readers. I don’t want anyone to think that I’m unaware of their own situation. I guess that’s just an aspect of my inclusive nature.

New Class This Year!

The new academic year began for me almost weeks ago. A new journey with new faces and new students  to enlighten and to inspire (hopefully). It is also exciting for me, personally and professionally, as I am one of a team of three professors collaborating on a new class being offered this semester. As this upcoming November 11, 2018, marks the centenary of the signing of the armistice that ended the Great War of 1914-1918 (World War I), this particular class offers a retrospective on that event, the “war to end all wars.”

Bottoms-Up! August, 2018

As difficult as it seems, we’ve already reached the last day of August, 2018. Time for our final opportunity to showcase our buttocks for the Summer, 2018. Author’s Note: September’s Bottom’s-Up! feature will be the first of the Autumn, 2018 season. As the guys in our featured gif image (above) demonstrate, there are some serious advantages to climbing up a waterfall. What better way to get “up-close-and-personal” with the gentleman ahead of you? I write from experience when I share with all of you that there are some distinct benefits to being a bare practitioner (naturist/nudist) follower! Same gender loving (gay) and bisexual men can attest to this truth!

Reflections: End of August, 2018

Aretha Franklin

Queen of Soul

1942 – 2018

The entertainment world collectively mourned the loss of Aretha Franklin, affectionately known as the Queen of Soul, during this month. Ms. Franklin, born on March 25, 1942, died after entering hospice care on Thursday, August 16, 2018. She was 76 years old. I personally never knew her, but I grew up in the era of her music. Being Deaf, I never heard her sing but I did read the lyrics to her songs and fully recognize and understand her tremendous impact on the popular culture.

Sunshine Stripping

As a friendly reminder to everyone who promised themselves to try outdoor nudity this season, a transition will happen in about four weeks. In the Northern Hemisphere, summer will become autumn. In the Southern Hemisphere, winter will become spring. In other words, time is running out. If you want to keep your promise, the time to strip off those clothes is now! If you wait until the last minute and discover that you really enjoy being bare, it becomes a wasted effort and a lost opportunity.

Bare Entertainment

Nude entertainment always sells. It’s a very lucrative business as millions of people every day fork over their money just to see the live nudity of someone they don’t even know and will probably never meet. Anonymous gratification of humanity’s obsession with sexual expressivity. Now that most people pay for their entertainment via credit card, I’m not too certain as to how anonymous the entire procedure truly is anymore or even if it was anonymous ever. However, that thought is outside the scope of this post.
