Bare Practitioner: Ourstory!

A vintage photograph and an ironic image!

Background and Introduction:

As the month of October, 2024, fast approaches closing, a tribute to our celebration of GLBTQ+ History Month is worthy of a final notation. Why? First and foremost, it helps all of us as we continue to build (construct, develop) an even greater sense and understanding of our very own story: our herstory/history/ourstory! There are extremely few, if any, references to nakedness in any commemoration – official or unofficial – throughout our collective community and culture.

Secondly, as a distinct minority within the GLBTQ+ population, bare practitioner ourstory (bare practitioner herstory/history) has a very justifiable and viable consideration to be explored and shared. Not only for us bare practitioners, but for all body and clothes freedom enthusiasts no matter their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

Thirdly and primarily is the fact that I owe to everyone here – at least – an apology and brief explanation for the announced and scheduled posting of: “Our History: No Briefs!” for Friday, 18 October, 2024. My seasonal pollen allergies caused a serious disruption of my health and myself for that day. I sincerely apologize to all for any confusion and inconvenience!

Ourstory: Definition:

Ourstory is simply an all gender inclusive description – not herstory nor history – that defines our experiences and lives as same gender loving (SGL) and body and clothes freedom humans. Being gender neutral, the intention is to be recognized and understood as being accepting us all in a respectful manner, regardless of our gender identity.

Ourstory, as a word, was initially introduced to me by my spouse, Aaron. He’s unable to identify or recall any source for the term except himself!

The Danish Trio:

Today’s heading (opening image above) depicts a photograph of the confident and proud gay artist, Ainor Bagner, (himself nude), painting a naked man reading a book on the coast of Denmark. The artist himself is obviously comfortable with his nudity. The same is true of the subject posing for him (the reader). Bagner’s photographer is visually mysterious, however, Bagner later confirmed that he was also a gay naked man. In the lower right-hand corner of the picture image is etched “1910.”

One common trait apparent in the above vintage photo is the comfort and confidence of both the known same gender loving artist, Ainor Bagner, and his artistic subject (the reader) have being photographed in their nakedness. Keep in mind the notation of “1910” in the lower right-hand corner of the picture. More than a century ago – long before the Stonewall Inn riots of 1969! Another bonus: their photographer joined them in their clothes freedom, too!

Personal:

I encountered this picture in the early days of my online exploration. It’s very nature and vintage captured my immediate appreciation and attention due to the nude subjects and their interaction. I remember thinking this is an important visual artifact of gay and nude history! Upon remembering the date the picture was inscribed, my theory on the historical was confirmed! Throughout all these years, it has remained one of my all-time favourites due to it being a classic example of nakedness and same gender love not being a contemporary novelty but instead being a lasting artistic tradition!

The emergence of the bare practitioner community and culture within the mainstream GLBTQ+ movement is a product of the 21st century. This picture is an integral part of ourstory!

Camaraderie:

Bare camaraderie early 1960s!

During a time when there was limited and rare acceptance, tolerance and understanding of what we now refer to as same gender love (SGL), the two young men featured in this series of photographs here interact in harmony with one another. Totally out of character and in direct conflict with social norms for both their time (early 1960s) and their type: one being Black and the other being White. Physically, besides their obvious nakedness, they are both in fitness and good health.

Racial equality was practically non-existent during this time period. Segregation (separation by race) was legally mandated throughout most of the country and was considered the “normal” routine. Photographs depicting or suggesting camaraderie and/or friendship between the two races were not permitted and attracted unwanted attention.

Friendly and bare, early 1960s!

Their body and clothes-free appearance – together – would be viewed by the overwhelming majority of people as despicable, illegal, immoral and offensive. Any hint of any type of intimacy (touching) between the two young men was disgraceful and repulsive and condemned by church, society and state. During this time period, few would promote their camaraderie as admirable and progressive. Then-president Harry Truman was strongly criticized by many for having integrated the U. S. armed forces by executive order in 1948.

The fact that these two young men were actually touching one another in the initial image (under the subtitle above) and the one below would have caused an uproar!

Leaning and supporting together!

This series of pictures represents an effort by the photographer in a subtle delivery of a message of artistic expression of equality. The photographer is unknown to us as is his clothing status (bare or clothed). No information is available on the two young men in the photos.

As bare practitioners, the ourstorical (historical) expression of the majesty of our nakedness is our artistic contribution!

Personal:

This photograph series on no way implies or suggests that the concept or ideal of racial equality is exclusive to us as bare practitioners. I’m certain of the existence of segregationists of both races. However, Aaron and I both believe our nakedness does make us inclined to greater acceptance of equality for all!

Heritage:

Early warrior!

The inclusion of this visual series serves as a reminder of the human heritage that we all share: nakedness. None of us were born with garments to wear. All of us were born bare, natural, or nude. Body and clothes freedom is the original “state of being” of us all!

Taking aim!

Taking advantage of our natural (from nature) resources, our ancestors created colors and designs to adorn, decorate, and distinguish our bare bodies. The purpose of this was not to conceal or hide but rather to embellish and enrich ourselves. Please note the natural “club” (stick) here is representative of “protection” (preservation) of our nakedness!

Pride!

Our shared ouristorical heritage is both majestic and noble. Be confident and be proud!

Naked hugs!

Our Offertory!

Dynamic duo!

How is history made? Through the eyes, hearts and minds of the people who live their lives as completely and as fully as they indeed are able!

Offering!

Who share what they have with all others to expand the goodness of life and the wonders of our world!

Lip-to-lip!

ReNude Pride: Our Offertory, Our Story!

Today, Aaron (my spouse) and I offer a gallery of our exploration of visual images that hopefully render to everyone a glimpse into the culture and the community of bare practitioners throughout the world. Here on ReNude Pride, we extol ourselves as accepting advocates and proponents of not only our same gender loving capacity but also of our nakedness! Now, during the 2024 celebration of our GLBTQ+ History Month, we seek to share with everyone here a festive and inspirational reality of what we indeed are: ourselves!

Clarification!

Bare practitioners are sometimes misinterpreted as militants about their nakedness. While this may be true for some, our belief and support of body and clothes freedom is in no way a fair and just assumption of all of us. Here on ReNude Pride, Aaron and I encourage us all to enjoy our ability to freely engage in our nudity to our individual levels of comfort. Some are satisfied with limited and/or occasional forays while without any covering, such as our gentleman (above) resting while visibly exposing his tan-line buttocks. Obviously, he’s bare when he wants to be!

Phoenix Fellington, ReNude Prides’s spokes-model!

Whereas others, such as this site’s unofficial representative, Phoenix Fellington, (above) is gloriously naked and completely unashamed whenever the opportunity is available! Publicly, he has no qualms in acknowledging his “I love being naked in nature!” status to all those within any audience available and interested. At this time, it is appropriate to remind everyone here of his professional qualification as a same gender loving (SGL) actor in the gay porn industry.

A comfortable pose!

Posing for others provides many of us with a chance to attain greater comfort and confidence in ourselves and our nakedness. It affords us the opportunity to examine ourselves as we appear through the eyes of others. Many take advantage of these opportunities to determine exactly how they feel about sharing their genitalia with those they may not know.

Discrete posing!
Discrete posing!
Discrete posing!

Others, realizing their comfort-level isn’t as bold, may opt to pose discretely and with modesty. It is an individual choice based on personal comfort, confidence and preference!

Happy GLBTQ+ History Month!

Exemplary Efforts!

Brief Photo-Essay:

Make Every Moment Count!

Enhancing September’s Summer Nakedness!

A visual offering of ideas and suggestions for spontaneous measures in photography and bare practitioner enrichment while natural in nature! Before the seasonal transition occurs, visually document your comfort with our environment as we celebrate the final days of our summer!

My friend and fellow blogger, Adimu Mawzi, joined together several years ago to commemorate the very last day of the summer of 2014. Aaron, my spouse, was at work on this day so we traveled to Richmond, Virginia, to spend some time riverside at a park near my childhood home.

I’m not adept at photography, so there were some difficulty as we attempted to adjust the automatic lens on my inexpensive camera!

*************************

Attempting to compensate for my extremely weak skills in operating a camera, the below images, I hope, will provide some additional resources to consider in creating memories of enjoying life naturally (without clothing) in our comfortable and warm natural world!

My spouse, Aaron, is my usual source for picture selections. However, upon our return from visiting Mama in Greece, he learned of the sudden death of a long-time co-worker and friend. I am respecting his grief and his need for solitude and am asking the same from all of you.

Pose and print! Be creative and make a memory that will last for you all through the upcoming winter season!

Of course, let’s not overlook our bare practitioner social media model, Dallas “Flashman” Wade, and his penchant for grooming himself! Details and patience!

Does Size Matter?

Evidently, the exact size of a man’s genitals (penis) does indeed matter to some. Or, perhaps our guest today is suffering with a calamity known simply as excessive modesty. Obviously, he is determined to keep his “private area” very personal and very private!

Of course, it is his body and he has every right to conceal as much – or as little – of it as he wants. However, why take a selfie photo of yourself with your hands covering your male anatomy? If you’re going to be naked, then let’s see it all!

Could he possibly be embarrassed about the size of his penis? Is that the reason that he is keeping it concealed? What nature has given to you is nothing to be ashamed about. Get over it and move forward with your life! Your body looks to be fitness induced so there’s no reason to worry about the size of your anatomy!

If .2 of a centimetre (cm) makes the difference of being measured as a boy or as a man, then size indeed matters! It also is important if the number of pubic hairs in your bush is a total of 6 follicles short of the same designation. Yes, the size of your penis or your pubic bush does matter determining if you are a man or just a boy!

Even if deliberately concealing the true determination of your penile and pubic authenticity makes your nakedness non-exculpatory and non-credible! It is also a crime, a felony to be exact! Punishable by being permanently banned from ever being a bare practitioner! No chance of ever receiving parole!

Of course, if the honest reason for you covering your genitalia is that you “groomed” (removed/shaved) your pubic hair: shame! Your attempt to return to your prepubescent state is no excuse for such immature behaviour! This time, “be a man” and “own up” to your mistake! There is no one else for you to blame!

The answer to today’s question: does size matter? depends primarily on the situation. Just like other facets in life, each and every situation is different and the proper response is determined outside a standard reply!

Relax!

Naked hugs!

Sankofa!

Adinkra symbol: Sankofa!

Introduction:

As previously presented here on ReNude Pride, the sankofa Adinkra symbol, from that tribe residing in the modern countries of west Africa, Ghana and Ivory Coast. The symbol is featured in the above heading along with the wisdom it represents. A synonymous defining word is retrospective. A look back in order to acquire direction for the future.

Another version of the sankofa is offered below. The variance is in the symbolic emblems only. The definition and wisdom is identical for both.

Sankofa: varied emblem!

Purpose:

Today’s post entry is offered as a supplement to the posting: Bare! Black! SGL! That post was published here this past Friday. It is a satirical examination of the myth: Black people aren’t gay or naked.

This post is a retrospective (sankofa) consideration of photographs prior to the Stonewall Inn riots (SIR) of June 28, 1969. An event that precipitated the modern international GLBTQ+ movement. Please note: the subjects shown here in these photos are bare. The dates of the pictures are approximate based on the hair-styles alone.

A kiss!

Sankofa #1: Affection

The estimated date for this picture is the middle 1960s.

Rural couple!

Adinkra #2: Companionship

The hairstyles on these two men are possibly from the late 1960s.

Embracing couple!

Adinkra #3: Trust

The approximate date of this image are the middle to late 1960s.

Mutual affection!

Adinkra #4: Attraction

The estimated time of this picture is early 1960s.

Bottoms-Up! January, 2024

A stare and buttocks!

It’s January in the Northern Hemisphere and an overwhelming majority of us are enduring the month inside where we can keep warm and not force our buttocks to suffer the frigid temperatures outside! Comfort and consideration do over-rule the joy of natural nakedness!

Buttocks comparison!

A bottoms-up! enterprise: a dynamic duo coupled for fun! A wonderful way to spend a winter’s day! Taking advantage of the chance to explore the bottoms-up! universe together! A triumphant team effort!

Bottoms-up! to bottoms-up!

A well-deserved respite from a busy day! Companionship brings out the best for all the rest of us to look back and enjoy!

Dressing room bottoms-up!

The “winter workouts” at our local fitness center or gym can often add a “spice of delight” for fans of bottoms-up! enthusiasts!

A “beachy” bottoms-up!

While it’s winter in the Northern Hemisphere, the Southern Hemisphere is full of the excited exposure of bountiful buttocks from coast-to-coast!

Photo-Essay: Heat Relief!

Cooling: iced beverage

It may be the next to the very last day of Summer, 2023, for those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere, but as we all know, the seasons may officially change but that doesn’t guarantee the weather to follow suit. The heat and humidity remain factors in our daily lives for days – perhaps weeks to come! This advanced in the season, many have endured all they can withstand of the summer temperatures! Their need for relief is immediate!

Serious cooling: ice on the knee!

The lower tolerance level for the weather extremes force many to seek comfort and solace in ways that the majority of us disdain. Some resort to the basic formula of ice and water to relieve themselves of the effects of heat and high humidity. That may quench the thirst but may not solve the temperature dilemma! However, as we all know, not all of us respond well to the same remedy. Sometimes, creativity is necessary to accomplish the desired goal. Different solutions apply differently to some better than others.

Lounging in the home away from the direct temperatures outside provides some with relief but then the challenge becomes what to do while being comfortable. One possible answer is to pose for pictures while relaxing. The results can be both creative and inspiring as well as a resource for the contents of a new photograph album! Air conditioning does have benefits!

For some of us, posing inside with air conditioning may eliminate the heat and humidity factor but may introduce a “too cooling” situation. Our bodies may be too conditioned to the higher outside weather and chill too easily inside. This causes one physical discomfort to replace another which may be just as uncomfortable and unpleasant! Again, what suffices for one person may not be applicable for another!

Of course, there are among us some individuals who just calmly manage to make themselves happy and relaxed no matter what the situation entails. Two cans of a cold soda and wandering from room to room inside may be all they need to survive another day of heat and humidity. Whatever works best for them is their only concern. The popular adage is the solution they recall: Whatever works best works for me!

According to my spouse, Aaron, this predicament reminds us of yet another familiar adage from tradition: You can’t teach an old dog new tricks!

Do we all bark now or later?

Photo-Essay: July Captivity!

Seizing the moment!

Captured in a game on the beach, our hostage offers no resistance to his victor! This is a product of the beach, the season and, of course, all the “fun-in-the-sun!” Of course, we don’t really see the conditions of his captivity. It could very well involve more fun than torture – or a balanced combination of both! A legitimate capture doesn’t mandate the infliction of pain!

Captured bare!

Or the opposite extreme of the spectrum, captured textile (wearing clothes). As the person holding the light and aiming, we’re very uncertain as to the message trying to be sent. Clearly proof that on a beautiful summer day, confined and inside is not the best place to be! For many of us, outdoor freedom (like clothes freedom) is preferable!

Captured engrossed!

The siblings above have been captured engrossed in reading. There is nothing wrong with allowing one to be mentally captured – there exists an adage that addresses this very though: a mind is a terrible thing to waste!

For those of us who are bare practitioners, another “terrible” thing to waste is the time involved in putting on clothing. Why bother to try to conceal what we don’t really need to hide? That is a true waste! Proudly go bare with nothing to disguise you!

Capturing on film!

Capturing and retaining the image preserves it for quite awhile and allows it to be shared with others. Some photographers enjoy being “captured” themselves while creating pictures of others. Enjoying his own hobby while letting permitting the public and others to fully appreciate himself! Perhaps that gesture includes “giving back into the community!”

Oceanic infinity!

Captured in a wide open space! It makes no difference if it is landscape or oceanic. The boundary is endless and beyond vision. The limitless opportunity is as far as we can only imagine. An unrestricted field of adventures and dreams that is all ours to explore and determine.

Captivity isn’t always a confining situation. The imagination gives it a limitless and timeless feature that we can take ourselves on a journey to indulge!
