Summer doesn’t officially begin until June 21, but here in the USA, this is the very unofficial start of the Summer season as it is the Memorial Day weekend, the first three-day holiday weekend of our Summer. The vast majority of the people in this country always look forward to this long weekend as positive proof that the days of “fun-in-the-sun” are at last here. The travel and tourist industries, especially those located in coastal areas, welcome the return of their busiest season of the year.
“Truth is, most of us contain a splashing, giggling, squealing child inside us who knows without thinking that bare skin and water go together as wings go with air, roots with earth and the phoenix with the incendiary sun.” ~ Author Unknown
The term skinny-dipping, used to describe swimming without any type of swimsuit, was first documented in the English language in 1947. The term is most commonly used in the USA. Continue reading Let’s Strip and Skinny-Dip
Before anyone suffers from a massive coronary, let me explain the title just a little bit further. As much as we bare practitioners (naturists/nudists) would love for the headlines in all the world’s media inform us of that fact, the reality is less dramatic than that. The truth of the matter is that Kenn Campbell-Harris, my nudist brother and fellow blogger (and a man I consider a kindred spirit) has evolved his blog, Gay Black Nudist, to what is now known as Nudist Planet. Tomorrow, Saturday, May 6, 2017, is the 13th observance of World Naked Gardening Day. It was first celebrated on Saturday, September 10, 2005. It’s a time where all are encouraged to get outside, tidy our lawns and gardens and, of course, to do it while we’re all completely clothes-free! The purpose of World Naked Gardening Day is to promote the health benefits of nudity and to foster the harmony between nakedness and nature. On the event’s website, gardening nude is listed as the second favorite activity – behind swimming – that people like to do while naked.
The title may be somewhat misleading, so I’ll begin here by explaining exactly what I mean. I sometimes get emails from occasional or infrequent readers of ReNude Pride, or my previous blog, A Guy Without Boxers, asking do I really write “in the buff” (naked) and what do I write about once I’ve encouraged people to try the clothes-free life. They are curious as to how someone can be a bare practitioner (naturist/nudist), who writes a blog all year long on nudity and have ample subject material.
At first glance, the two same gender loving (gay) bare practitioners (naturists/nudists) in the photo above appear entirely indifferent to one another. The man on the left (Daniel) epitomizes shame, whether because of his nakedness or because of his sexuality (or both), we’ll never really know. The man on the right (Mike) exudes confidence in himself, his nudity and his sexuality. Right? The body language suggests it but are we sure? Do these attitudes determine if they’re naked or nude?
Today is one of the few years that both the Eastern and Western traditions of Christianity celebrate the Easter holiday on the same date. The Eastern traditions (Orthodox, Armenian, Egyptian and Ethiopian Coptic) generally adhered to the old-style calendars and the Western traditions (Roman Catholic and Protestant) followed the new-style calendars. Usually, the Western Easter is earlier than the Eastern holiday. The icon (holy image) shown above depicts the Resurrection of the Christ, the reason for the holiday.
All of us, at some point in our lives, have those moments when we absolutely must wear clothing. Being bare or clothes-free simply isn’t an option. It can be the funeral of a co-worker, going to work or a trip to the dentist. There is simply no escaping the fact that some type of covering is essential for our fulfilling the needs of our everyday lives. Yes, it would be ideal if there was a viable alternative but all too often the rest of society and the world doesn’t cater to our nudecentric needs.
Here it is, the end of my third month of publishing ReNude Pride! It seems like only yesterday that I was writing my first post here on a blustery, frigid and snowing Saturday morning, in the beginning of a new year, and now we’re into the Spring season of 2017. Time flies and it does offer some wonderful and fun times. One of the better aspects of blogging is the connections it affords in linking with a fantastic crowd of exciting bare practitioners (naturists/nudists). The camaraderie alone makes the barren winters bearable!
Pictured above is my BPM (bare practitioner of the month), Kenn Campbell-Harris, author of the blog, Gay Black Nudist (click title to visit his site). I discovered his online journal early this past January and he’s a talented writer and a true nude prince! He’s an American and is currently living in Thailand with his husband. Back in January, when I posted my End of Month Reflections (click to view), Kenn gallantly volunteered to grant me this interview. That’s one of many reasons why I consider him a true nude prince!
