EP: Erectile Phobia!

Erect bare practitioner (left)!

Erectile Phobia/Erection Phobia

sometimes referred to as “arousal phobia”

Erectile phobia/erection phobia are colloquial common terms for any man – no matter his sexual preference – who allows his fear (phobia) of possibly having an erection (arousal) in public to actually prevent him from experiencing social nudity or, more appropriately, engaging as a bare practitioner. This fear is not based on sexual attraction. The most unfortunate aspect of this situation is that there is an an equal possibility that the same man will not have a public erection and therefore he is allowing his phobia to deny him the camaraderie and joys of communal nakedness. Arousals (erections) are not always available so none of us are immune from this happening. Most of us are realists and refuse to let the possibility deter and prevent our enjoyment.

Our nakedness is optional for all of us. It is an individual decision that we are afforded throughout our lifetime and we are free to determine when and where we engage in the activity. Our personal preference for public nudity/social nudity can and does change and vary according to situation, friends, family and other social determinants.

A posed image!

Background:

There are two official terms used to label the fear of seeing, thinking about and/or having a public erection. The first of these is ithyphallophobia. “Ithy” is taken from the ancient Greek word for straight and “phallo” is the same for penis. Thus, a “straight penis” or erection. The use of the word straight refers to direction rather than the colloquial for sexual preference.

The second of these is medorthophobia which is also identified as the fear of seeing, thinking or having a public erection. These terms are applicable to both genders although in the female category there is no fear of actually having a public erection.

Erections, or arousals, are a natural male response to sexual stimulation, imagined or real. It is perfectly healthy and normal with absolutely no reason for any feeling of shame. The enlargement of the man’s penis can and does happen when we are alone or in a group setting (social nudity). There are always those occasional awkward moments when a man’s penis really does have a “mind of its own” and reacts accordingly.

Spontaneous moment!

Practically every male who has survived puberty is aware that often we have minimal or no control over when and where our erections occur. It simply happens, regardless of the environment and/or situation. Without warning it grows and continues to do so until we’re miserable and ready to die of embarrassment and shame. What’s important to remember here is that none of us ever died from having a spontaneous (unplanned) erection.

Unfortunately, EP (erectile phobia) – ithyphallophobia, medorthophobia – inhibits and prevents some men (no matter their sexual attraction) from enjoying and participating in clothes free (naturist/nudist) activities. They are afraid of humiliation in the presence of their family, friends and peers. This is by no means an exclusive “queer fear!”

Unbothered by an emerging erection!

Aaron, my spouse, and I offer this post entry here on ReNude Pride: Guys Without Boxers! as a resource to calm and help erase the anxieties and guilt that some men have with involuntary public erections. All of us deserve the freedom to experience life without the burden of a penile surprise!

Introduction:

We’ll start with attempting to dispel a few commonly believed myths surrounding public erections. These are misconceptions that frequently hinder the exploration of the bare practitioner life by those who are curious or tempted. Next, we’ll offer suggestions on coping should an unintentional penis enlargement occur.

It is important to remind everyone that erections are naturally spontaneous.

Myths/Misconceptions:

Everyone will automatically know that I’m an inexperienced social nudist.

This is a false premise. It is true that those who are “newbie nude” or unfamiliar with communal nakedness are possibly prone to public arousals, this is not an absolute. Veteran or experienced social nudists get erections, too! It happens to all of us. Regardless of the man, erections appear naturally and randomly. They don’t discriminate based on the number of times an individual has been communally bare.

If I get an erection around a group of naked men, everyone will know that I’m bisexual or gay.

News flash: heterosexual (opposite gender attraction) men get erections in public, also! Whether or nor they are in the company of women! An arousal, once a guy is past his early adolescent years, is generally caused by an increase in blood flow and/or by excitement, not necessarily because he is physically attracted to someone in close proximity. Practically all men will grow erect regardless of what gender they determine attractive.

People will think that I’m an exhibitionist or trolling for sex.

First of all, one of the very last places for an exhibitionist to visit is a socially nude environment. Exhibitionists are excited about exposing themselves and people’s reaction to their behaviour. A communal nudist event or location, practically everyone is clothes free. Exhibitionists would blend with the crowd and be practically invisible. Thus, there is no reward (thrill) for them.

If they are so bold as to masturbate in public, they are ignored, shunned, and soon escorted off the property (and informed never to return)!

Secondly, almost every social nudist is aware of erectile spontaneity and simply choose to ignore the condition. In a predominantly same gender loving (SGL) environment, we have all been there, had a public erection or two and understand (sympathize).

Everybody will laugh at me or worse.

This is simply not true, mainly for the reasons posed above. Most experienced naturists/nudists are sympathetic to this situation and too polite to call attention to a man with an erection. Unless the person is behaving in an offensive or provocative manner, few will give the arousal a second thought. There are no “erection control police” to embarrass or punish a man for being normal.

I’ll be humiliated!

If an erection does happen and understand that the key word here is “if,” this may be true. Remember that the discomfort will last only as long as the erection does. This is usually a few minutes. Once it returns to normal, enjoy the company of others who are around you. Relax and appreciate the freedom of having fun, naturally!

With the recent arrival of summer and the accompanying increase of bare or clothing optional social events (barbecues, cookouts, cocktail parties, sports opportunities, etc.) this post is offered as a resource to calm and erase the anxieties that some of us may have with visible erections. Everyone – bisexual, gay or otherwise – deserves the privilege to experience the season bare and without the concern of a spontaneous “surprise!”

Suggested solutions:

There are some options if a man begins to feel the onset of an arousal of his penis. Listed below are a few alternative actions that we’ve used or friends have recommended when in this predicament. Keep in mind that these are personal strategies and not from any official document or guide (I doubt that one exists). Remember, what may work well for one person may not be as successful for another.

If lying on a towel or a chaise lounge, simply roll over onto your stomach until the penis subsides (calms).

Common sense, right? “Out-of-sight, out-of-mind.” The penis is removed from public view.

A quick dive into the water and a brisk swim usually conceal an erection and the physical exertion relaxes the penis.

It also helps to take our mind off the situation and to focus our thoughts elsewhere. The swimming activity releases some of the energy retained.

If standing, either physically turn away (if possible, without being rude) or focus on maintaining eye contact directly with those around you. Concentrate on the dialogue and not the erection. Continue to interact as though nothing is amiss.

If this is done when you first notice your penis becoming aroused, it generally prevents a full erection. If the erection is underway, continue to focus on the group activity.

If you become aroused during a sports game (one-on-one or a team) or during a social game (charades, board game, cards) remain focused on the activity and not the physical reaction.

Becoming more involved in the activity often decreases the genital reaction, especially if movement is possible. Sometimes, using the hands or a game accessory to block visibility is also beneficial. Keep in mind that more probably, the attention is focused on the activity/game and not the physical reaction of one player.

If this happens during a meal, there is a convenience available known as a napkin. Use it to cover your lap while savouring the company and the food.

Just knowing that you’re no longer publicly exposed usually relaxes the penis. A meal generally involves an extended period of time so there is no pressure to discard the napkin.

If appropriate, use self-deprecating humour. Laughter shared with friends changes the mood and helps eliminate any tensions. Seeing the humour often dissipates the problem (erection).

Remember the proverb: “Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone.”

If all else fails, mentally envision the opposite of the situation. Picture castration or the affliction of a penile dysfunction. Those thoughts alone may quickly erase any unexpected and unwelcome natural urge.

Photographers get erections, too!

Familiarity with both nakedness and photography does not create immunity to physical responses to bare imaging. Photographers – both amateur and professional – get spontaneous erections, too! There is no guaranteed exemption from this natural occurrence, it afflicts us all!

Recognizing erectile phobia (ithyphallophobia, medorthophobia) for what it is, understanding that it is both natural and normal and knowing that others are sympathetic hopefully will reduce any concerns or issues about participating in social nudity. Sometimes, just realizing that there is a name for a particular problem helps to ease anxiety.

The above suggested solutions if (that word, “if” again) an arousal or erection does occur hopefully provide possible strategies to use in the situation. Occasionally, knowing there is a “back-up” (alternate) plan (or several) eliminates the need for intensive preparation.

Any bare practitioner acquaintances or friends to discuss or explore these concerns with are excellent resources and potential allies. They may offer better suggestions for effective and helpful ideas than the ones offered by Aaron and I above!

Hard Work: Beach Days!

The very first time that Aaron, my spouse, and I ever saw one another, we were both bare and comfortable, relaxed and at a social event along a river where skinny dipping (naked swimming) was encouraged! A “home-away-from-home” situation that would attest to our bare practitioner nature!

A park setting along a riverfront, not a beach as offered above. Yet, nakedness and socialization were on the agenda for that event and we were both in compliance before we even met! To be honest, we were both amenable to the theme of the gathering for most of our lives!

We never knew one another prior to our meeting in late May, 2010. However, we shared an appreciation and joy in being bare long before acknowledging and understanding our same gender loving (SGL) preference. In my case, Alex, my identical twin and I were engaged in being clothes free when our parents began to try to teach us how to actually dress in garments!

Our same gender attraction was recognized at the development of puberty. For Twin (Alex) and I, it was almost the same time. We simply discussed our “feelings” one day and that was our acceptance of the matter. We had a few discussions with acquaintances on the subject and then our oldest brother (gay) broached the topic and the rest we learned through skinny-dipping at a local riverside park.

When Aaron and I first encountered one another, I immediately indicated to him in the use of my hands that I’m Deaf. He responded instantly in American Sign Language (ASL) asking if I was fluent in ASL and what was my name. Fortunately, we both understood manual communication became an “unofficial” item from that moment on!

Actually, we sat on some large rocks riverside and became acquainted for almost two hours before we even thought about joining others in the water! For us, skinny-dipping wasn’t the priority anymore as we learned more about one another and our experiences in the gay and nudist communities and also the Deaf community.

Funny how we always remember the good points of our relationships – why we stayed with one another and gave almost no attention to others at the social gathering. We were both interested in learning as much as possible about our pasts, due in part because the more we shared, we became aware of many more common factors and similarities!

One of the last aspects that we passed along to one another was our mutual fondness for skinny-dipping (swimming nude). That was the theme for this social activity so we probably just assumed that was why we were there.

Of course, it was one of the many “key points” of our initial and fast-growing relationship with one another. Growing up, we both enjoyed the forbidden activity of swimming naked – long before we even learned the meaning of the term: skinny-dipping. Equally as long as we learned of the actual existence of one another. Perhaps this proves true the adage: “the best things in life are worth waiting for.”

Our eight days in Greece provided us with time to indulge in our shared aquatic excursion – especially as my family home is on an island. Plenty of secluded spaces to engage ourselves in some very bare fun! My mother does enjoy her daily afternoon “naps!”

So now, eleven years after marriage, we continue to enjoy swimming nude/skinny-dipping with one another. Even on an island, in a sea, far, far away!

July 14: Bare Practitioner’s Day!

Tomorrow, July 14, annually:

BARE PRACTITIONER’S DAY!

Our same gender loving (SGL) nakedness commemoration celebration occasion!

Our very own day for us all to engage and to enjoy the ability to be the person that we really and truly are: us naturally being us!

As bare practitioners, we openly acknowledge our gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer + sexuality (GLBTQ+) and our comfort and preference for our nakedness (body and clothes freedom). There is no need to conceal nor deny these aspects of our personality. These two qualities define us as well as our community and our culture. We are confident and proud of both what and who we really and truly are!

One question frequently asked of us is what characteristic did you determine first, your sexuality or your nakedness? The truth is that there is no standard formula for self-identification. The proverbial “if A followed by B then C happens” varies among each one of us. Some of us understood our sexuality before appreciating our nakedness. For an equal number of us, the opposite is reality. Basically, our bare practitioner status is individually determined through appreciation and awareness and not by a set formula or pattern.

It is our own personal acceptance, appreciation and awareness of these aspects of ourselves that empower and enable us to determine our identification as bare practitioners. We are our own individual “deciding authority!”

Back in January 2017, when Aaron, my spouse, and I initiated ReNude Pride: Guys Without Boxers!, there existed an unofficial holiday, “World Nudist Day” – otherwise known as “World Naturist Day.” Aside from knowing that the designation existed, I was unaware of any designed or impromptu observance ever happening. It was almost as though no one wanted to openly admit to actually being a naturist, nudist or clothes freedom enthusiast.

Even though in the USA marriage equality was now legally and officially the “law of the land,” there remained opposition to that reality which resulted to continued bias and marginalization of the SGL population. There was obviously a shortage of widespread equality and respect for SGL people as well.

This absence of equality and respect from the general population was accentuated by the same from the naturist/nudist community. The homophobia present from that culture was and remains very confusing and unsettling to a majority of bare practitioners even today and causes friction and tensions that often hinder cooperation and unity.

For many, this is the major reason for the frequent determination of “SGL beaches” at destinations featuring clothing optional designation. This segregation is preferred over a general “inclusion” into a population that is judgmental and unfriendly. As proven time and time again, people – regardless of their clothing status and/or sexual orientation – prefer being with people they perceive as most similar to themselves.

For those of us who have to professionally interact with numerous individuals far removed from our social preferences, such as Aaron and I, whenever we have the chance, we voluntarily congregate with “our” kind instead of mingling with a general crowd. Sometimes the escape from the ordinary is a welcome relief and definitely fun!

“Heat wave” relief!

“Truth is, most of us contain a splashing, giggling, squealing child inside us who knows without thinking that bare skin and water go together as wings go with air, roots with earth and the phoenix with the incendiary sun.” ~ Unknown ~

Aquatic antics!

“Being a bare practitioner in no way adequately defines us yet it indeed is a fun way to accurately describe us!” ~ Roger Poladopoulos ~

One reason for bare practitioners making the best of friends is that the absence of clothing (concealment) enables people to become honest and sincere as they lack the tools to disguise (clothing). What naked friends see – a natural body – is the reality of friendship: bare with pride and nothing to hide!

Arrival!
Relaxed!

No matter where we are, during the summertime, nature and our nakedness remain constant and compatible. A most definite “winning combination!”

Rooftop and preoccupied!

Welcoming the surf to the shore in the most natural way: clothes free!

Welcoming together!
Seasonal confidence!

Bare and without a single care as to what others may judge or think!

Bare expression!

For an overwhelming majority of us, being a bare practitioner is a choice that we freely make…

Desire to become bare!

whether we are alone or in the company of our companions and friends!

Bare camaraderie!

As bare practitioners, we do not intend to offend, we just want to be ourselves!

Our pride in being bare practitioners (SGL naturists/nudists) extends beyond the month of June every year. It’s an ongoing process that re-affirms our fulfillment and self-worth throughout the entire year.

“Our sense of confidence in ourselves doesn’t bestow on any of us the right of arrogance and/or the right of judgment. we, of all people, know better than to make that assumption. Most of us have been the target of judgmental and prejudicial behaviour (or worse) in our own lives and know, first-hand, how that makes people feel. Patience and tolerance of others, regardless of the beliefs and values they hold, should be our guide. Our pride in ourselves includes our pride in our actions towards others.

Being confident and proud of ourselves involves respecting the rights of others in allowing them to be proud of themselves, too. Our freedom should not entail denying the same to anyone else.” ~ Roger Poladopoulos ~ 1 June 2017

NUDE RECREATION WEEK 2026

6 – 12 July 2026

Our celebrity spokes-model, Phoenix Fellington!

Our very own, ReNude Pride: Guys Without Boxers! official, unofficial spokes-model, Phoenix Fellington, proudly poses in his glorious nakedness (above image)!

“I want to waste as little time as possible wearing clothes or trying to hide my body!” ~ Phoenix Fellington ~ spokes-model and gay pornography actor

This week-long festival of body and clothes freedom recreational (fun) activities is jointly cosponsored by the American Association of Nude Recreation (AANR) and The Naturist Society (TNS). As every summer is the “season of fun in the sun,” it is only logical that major national naturist/nudist advocacy organizations present an event in honour of clean, healthy naked living. The recent tendency over the last several years is to observe this occasion after the USA’s 4 July holiday (USA Day).

Recreation (simple explanation) is any undertaking we engage for enjoyment, fun, improvement, relaxation and/or socialization. Nude Recreation Week involves an emphasis on the numerous activities, leisure services and past-times, both active and passive, that people may engage in or undertake while clothes free. In essence, identical to what can be enjoyed when wearing garments. This isn’t to imply this special week is the only time we bare our bodies for fun and games. As bare practitioners, we all do that quite frequently!

This observance is a fairly recent event with the earliest documented date being 7 August 1976 as Nude Beach Day. It was first held at Truro Beach in southern California and at the Head of the Meadow Beach in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It continued at these two locations as a single day cause for several years and eventually expanded into National Nude Weekend and added additional beaches to the locations.

As many nudist resorts weren’t located with access to a clothing optional beach, it soon became apparent that a name change and another theme was necessary. This resulted into what we know and celebrate as Nude Recreation Week.

Many clothes free destinations and resorts, looking for expansion of their financial options, now sought affiliation with the Nude Recreation Week observance. This opened the door to growth and popularity as the public no longer were as judgmental against clothes freedom as they once were.

As the public acceptance of clothing optional facilities increased, the commercial and membership restrictions against same gender loving (SGL) people remained deeply within the opinions and policies of the mainstream naturist/nudist societies. Homophobia and exclusionist policies remained in place and the largely growing SGL community of nudists took their cash elsewhere.

This resulted in the emergence of convenient, modern and new facilities that catered to the needs of the SGL community. The older and restrictive facilities soon began to notice a decrease in business and in finances. Initially, they refused to alter their policies and procedures while watching their numbers decrease and customers complain. Gradually, some of the more progressive establishments reversed and welcomed SGL customers and members.

Unfortunately, even to this day, there remains some bias within our body and clothes freedom world. As this is now the 21st century, the days of separation should be deep into the past for all of us.

Footnote:

In 2019, the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) designated the second Saturday of July as International Skinny Dip Day. Personal experience for both Aaron, my spouse, and I as well as documented confusion over the meaning of skinny dip offer some hesitation as to the acceptance and annual observance of this event.

Bare Celebrity Role Model #5: Happy Birthday!

Sean Xavier born Kyle Overton!

Prologue:

Here on ReNude Pride: Guys Without Boxers! we are publishing a series of post entries dealing with various aspects of bare celebrity role models. When we are composing an entry on the date of an actual birthday of an authentic bare practitioner whom we find impressive on the screen, why let the opportunity pass unnoticed? Such is the situation today for honouring the superlative Sean Xavier!

His career name (stage name) is Sean Xavier. In the extremely unlikely event that you don’t recognize him, we’ll continue with a casual introductory listing of his vital statistics in order for us all to celebrate his birthday (today)!

Sean Xavier Vital Statistics:

Birth Name: Kyle Overton

Birth Date: January 16, 1988

Birthplace: Victorville, California, USA

Height: 6’0″ (183 cm)

Weight: 169lbs. (77 kg)

Hair: Black

Eyes: Brown

Penis: Circumcised (cut) 10″ (flaccid/soft)

Body Hair: Armpit, chest, pubic

Sexuality: Exclusively gay

Sexual Position: Versatile

Preferred: Alpha (top)

A youthful Sean Xavier!

A Black man (African-American) in the same gender loving (SGL) adult film trade is nothing new. Sean/Kyle does have a distinguishing advantage over other actors: his prestigious manhood (penis). Even when flaccid (relaxed) it hangs in view for all to admire. His success in the gay adult film industry is in part attributed to his very prominent anatomy! His natural body hair (armpit, chest and pubic) add to his sensual physique!

A couple of personal notations here. My fantasies involving Sean began when I initially encountered the above picture of him proudly posing his nakedness and his very appealing underarm fur. That photo of him inaugurated my desire and fascination with the man! My spouse, Aaron, recalls his fantasy motivation with him beginning with the size and length of his very generous and noticeable penis!

Back then, he was known as Sean XL. Many of us simply assumed the “XL” designation was in reference to his male genitalia. Our man certainly fulfilled the criteria for that determination!

Sean/Kyle offers an exceptional confidence and pride in his nudity. Far too many bisexual and gay men have body shame in being without the latest fashion items concealing them. Our man? Not so! Nothing in the clothing line is best to feature than his very “natural endowment!”

Sean receives a birthday kiss!

Aaron and I, in publishing ReNude Pride: Guys Without Boxers! acknowledge and appreciate the reality that the trait of nakedness is a priority over our same gender loving (SGL) agenda. Both attributes are equal in our lives as bare practitioners, yet the fact that the bisexual or gay components are what attract interest here initially. The SGL feature is enhanced, enriched and expanded by the naturist/nudist curiosity, examination, exploration and understanding.

Sean, our birthday celebrant, also recognizes this truth. People are comprehending the nakedness concept through acceptance of the bisexual or gay determination. Therefore, more emphasis is on body and clothes freedom nature. Our sexual orientation is an important factor yet the primary interest is the nudity.

Sean/Kyle, in his professional capacity – in front of a camera lens – makes no effort to conceal and/or detract from his bare status. If and when possible, he does employ the appearance of any type of garment as a subtle tool of “proclaiming” his being nude!

Sean Xavier on stage!

This initiative strengthens his commercial appeal among his audiences and serves as a prime example for others new to the SGL adult film careers! The bisexual/gay film movie executives finally recognized this ability of Sean’s work. It opened even more doors for professional expansion and resulted in his being viewed as more than just a “porn actor!”

Live on stage!

Sean Xavier did briefly “retire” from the SGL film industry in order to explore several opportunities for alternate work. His retirement lasted less than a year before his major “comeback” (return) was launched! The staged clips (above) were created for one of his theatrical roles.

“Body hair – a little or a lot – is part of being manly. Like our nipples, penis and testicles, it is a part of our anatomy that makes us what and who we are. Bisexual or gay, we know what is good for us!” `~ Sean Xavier ~ gay adult actor

The above picture of Sean/Kyle was taken early in his career. In a notation he added to an interview at the time, he publicly regretted that he had allowed a studio attendant to shave his chest hair. His honesty with the studio policies demonstrates a trait he has exemplified throughout his film performances.

Sean/Kyle: maschalagnia (hairy armpit confidence)!

He is very proud of his underarm fur – and I am, too! For those who are fairly new to ReNude Pride: Guys Without Boxers!, I openly acknowledge my obsession with this masculine anatomical feature! To be completely truthful, I am always impressed with hirsuteness adorning a man – Sean/Kyle especially!

Serious hirsute pride!

His birthday happens in January but there is absolutely nothing cold about Sean Xavier/Kyle Overton! His fans worldwide agree with me on that observation. Even his serious facial expression is inviting and welcome! He obviously was taught to “do unto others as you would have them do unto you!” An important lesson that someone needs to teach the majority of all of our political leadership!

Now, we can all sit back, devour our slice of birthday cake and watch Sean celebrate being another year older!

Happy Birthday, Sean Xavier/KyleOverton!

Author’s Note #2: It is Sean/Kyle’s birthday today, so we should be as “giving” as possible to please his day!

Author’s Note #3: After all, we invaded your “special” day! Our gratitude to you, Sean Xavier/Kyle Overton!

Bare Friends, TAN, Part 1!

Jay and Roger!

Full Title:

Bare Friends: Truth About Nakedness!

It may not be always accepted and fully appreciated as an absolute truth, but the fact is that the common bond of our mutual nakedness – body and clothes freedom – indeed helps create and encourage friendship! Our relationship – Jay and I -is living proof that reality. We have been the epitome of this philosophy since we first met on Saturday, 3 January, 2009!

In the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, this day was the first “nude happy hour” of the new year. It was also the month of then President-Elect Barack Obama’s initial inauguration; the air was full of excitement and a welcome of change and hope following eight long years of repetition and stagnation under the retreating political administration. All of this accompanied by a balmy day with the outside temperatures into the 70s F: almost unknown for the month of January!

Now, my recollection of everything that happened on the actual date and circumstances related to our beginning our friendship could last forever as we observe this annually. For those who are curious about our meeting and then one week later encountering one another – again – and the both of us failing to recognize one another because we were textile (wearing clothes) that second time, check the two links offered here: Bare Friendships Part 1 and Bare Friendships Part 2 .

Our initial meeting at the SGL social nakedness gathering, there exists a pictorial reminder/souvenir of one of the topics we discussed that day: penis fascination among gay men! Jay had this image sent to him by a friend and then showed it to me. I was intrigued and asked him to forward it to me and he did! I’ve saved it ever since and for a couple of years, it was our “signature” that we shared with one other over emails and/or texting.

Jay and Roger’s first communication “signature!”

The remarkable aspect of this early .gif image is that it is a reminder of simplyhow “normal” bare practitioner close friendships (BPF) can become! We could very well have been mistaken for “wearing clothes!”

Footnote #1: Later that summer – 2009 – when Jay and I took a day trip to a popular “nudist resort” in southern Virginia, we were limited to a day only stay. Virginia, the capital state of the former Confederacy wasn’t as progressive towards interracial friendships despite the fact that President Obama had won here that previous November!

Our “signature” picture had inspired us to attempt to be playful on that day!

Our having two prominent common denominators in our developing relationship (friendship) – being SGL and nakedness enthusiasts – are clearly potent indications of the myths that frequently happen throughout our shared community and culture. Often the assumption was made that we were “lovers” who just “fell” into friendship after our bromantic “coupling” ended.

Nevermind the fact that we have not ever shared any physical intimacy together! We’ve always remained strictly platonic and have enjoyed numerous times of fun and laughter doing so, especially when free without the heavy burden of garments!

The circumstances and the individuals involved determine the evolution path of every relationship, whether platonic or intensely erotic and passionate. There are those “authority” figures who seek to decree and/or mandate how all interactions should happen; yet, we all know that decision is conveniently, easily and often discarded, dismissed and/or ignored repeatedly time and time again!

Phoenix Fellington and friend!

In summary, no specific by-law or rule governs all friendships/bromantic SGL relationships. Guidelines and/or strong recommendations certainly exist, we all know that, but the ultimate decision rests with the persons affected – regardless of their gender/sexual affiliation and whether or not they are wearing clothes!

Footnote #2: I’m flying off to spend some time with Jay and his partner. Raheem. As 3 January this year also happens on a Saturday this year, time to be with Jay and reminisce and recollect on our friendship (very best friendship) anniversary! Perhaps we’ll have time to recapture our imitation of the elephant (penis twirl) again! Raheem can operate the camera!

Naked hugs!

Bare Celebrity Role Models, #2!

Why SGL Adult Film Actors Illustrate ReNude Pride: Guys Without Boxers!

Prologue:

One of the major purposes/reasons that my spouse, Aaron, and I launched this site, ReNude Pride: Guys Without Boxers! was to create, designate and offer a safe space (blog) where same gender loving – SGL – persons who enjoy nakedness (clothes freedom) could experience, feel, identify and sincerely be themselves. One obvious tool of sharing a receptive and welcoming atmosphere is to offer a comfortable environment where our nakedness and our sexuality is the common bond that enables us all to relate to “home.”

The “header” image (above) proves that our life philosophy as bare practitioners (bisexual or gay naturists/nudists) is definitely not a recent phenomenon (occurrence). From the hairstyles of the subjects, the vintage picture posted above is from the late 1950s/early 1960s. We were actually around before the Stonewall Inn riots (SIR) took place in 1969!

The obvious message from the header is that we’re SGL and we’re clothes free! Not only “back-in-the-day” when the picture was photographed. The .gif image below reinforces the fact that we’re still the same today!

Introduction:

In an effort to provide a comfortable, familiar and relaxing space for our fellow bare practitioners, Aaron and I believe that we should illustrate and represent us with what and who we truly are: our bodies and ourselves! In order to accomplish this task, we feature depictions of us – SGL nakedness – without any embarrassment, guilt or shame. As stated in the first posting entry of this series, we don’t feature engaging in our physical intimacy, but we do honour our awareness of our same gender anatomy and our same gender attractions.

Our being honest does not demand us being evasive. Only the truth will set us all free!

Purpose:

One concern/issue that is often posed is why publish photos of professional adult actors here? Are we recruiting future “gay porn stars?” Are we “promoting pornography?” Are we endorsing a career?

No! We are not endorsing, promoting nor recruiting for the SGL adult film industry studios nor are we encouraging sexual behaviour. The photographic illustrations accompanying this post entry here show the aspect of truth. As bisexual or gay, the male penis for many of us is an anatomical reality of interest – curiosity and wonder. We accept that fact and then we move on.

Acknowledging what we know and facing that challenge is a valid component of what and who we are is, in our opinion, better than ignoring it and pretending it goes away!

We developed this site in the hope that we all, as bare practitioners, experience a dream where we just simply celebrate in a place that allowed us, as a community and as a culture, to just be ourselves! A haven of happiness, harmony and hope!

Footnote #1: In at least one (1) of the future post entries developed for this Bare Celebrities series here on ReNude Pride: Guys Without Boxers! there will be another focus offered on the penis. That will be apparent for all when it is published. The reason for the inclusion of these images and the introduction of the penis anatomical topic at this phase of the series publication may necessitate this notation and reminder of this fact here at this time.

Justifications:

Probably one of the major essentials of being a successful and sought after SGL adult film industry “super-star” (extraordinary performer) is confidence and pride being publicly identified and recognized as a bisexual or gay man and extreme acceptance and comfort in nakedness (without clothing) – especially in being the only person fully nude in a studio full of support staff, all of whom are completely dressed!

In order to perform in an SGL adult film career, embarrassment, guilty, excessive modesty and/or shame is not compatible! Essentially, one is awarded a role that requires simply two simple talents: nudity and sex.

The professional actors who excel in this very specific industry, hired as such my executives who crave (desire) the action depicted and who emotionally and financially depend on the financial rewards afforded by this type of employment.

As performers in this industry, their male anatomy (penis) is one of their job assets and responsibilities. Due to it being an absolute necessity for employment, the professional actor has no obsessive or underlying need to be constantly or excessively flamboyant about their possession of this particular attribute nor are they driven to flaunt it endlessly.

Contemplating today’s post entry!

For this reason, professionals are ideal subjects for “photo-shoots” (photography sessions) – posing – where their erection (excited anatomy) is not the featured or focused object/subject. This allows them the ability to take one proverbial step away from their job essential status and become their natural, “playful” and relaxed self all with their preferred nakedness and in an environment accepting of their SGL attraction.

The result of this situation is the plethora of pictures created by professional photographers (paid by the studios) featuring the casual and playful actors in various situations not requiring their erections at full potential! A totally different promotional picture session than the routine!

The engagement of those who are experienced and familiar with the needs and skills of posing as camera subjects offers all viewers with pictures that provide better content and quality. These enhance reality and understanding. They also provide identity and recognition.

The availability of the photos offered is free online and financed by the film industry studios. This access increases the sales of the particular sales of the items offered and this increases the studio’s income (profits)! It benefits everyone involved! Admittedly, Aaron and I both enjoy the ability to view these images although at times it does test patience!

Another, slightly less prominent justification for the use of seasoned performers is that the majority of those are indeed bare practitioners (SGL nakedness) so they instinctively are aware what captures the immediate attention of those of similar identification. They also know what information persons seek and where these interests proceed. So the professionals, in order to both increase their audience base and to reward their loyalty are more than happy to at least respond to any legitimate request.

Bare Celebrity Role Models, #1!

Phoenix Fellington, totally bare! ReNude Pride: Guys Without Boxers! Celebrity spokes-model!

The Use of Pictures of Openly Gay Porn Stars to Illustrate This Blog!

Preliminary:

My initial intent was to incorporate this topic into my recent posting of Bare/Dare Series 2025! here on ReNude Pride: Guys Without Boxers! Several complaints and/or concerns have been expressed to me over this issue. Upon drafting a post entry this identical topic evolved into the inspiration for the Bare/Dare series. While composing that series, this decision was made to resolve this topic and reverting to the intent of a separate posting.

Prologue:

As the entire month of October in the US is observed as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer + (GLBTQ+) History Month this practice of using gay film stars – and recognition – of publicly acknowledging their status (pornography) – encourages and promotes the “disreputable” nature of their profession.

The subject matter itself is part of our GLBTQ+ story. Thus, it is automatically historical. Hence, it is both an appropriate and worthy topic to be featured during this commemoration of GLBTQ+ History Month, 2025!

The fact remains that it is indeed both a controversial and sensitive topic within our community and our culture. That reality alone justifies it being addressed and considered during this occasion!

It directly involves and reflects upon this site. That relationship merits a place in our history here!

Background:

One of the widely accepted purposes of the publishing of ReNude Pride: Guys Without Boxers! is to end the bias and prejudice against same gender loving (SGL) nakedness. In order to dispute the myth of excessive nude sexual exploitation, this blog avoids all images of any sexual intimacy. We are not a sexual publication. There is an abundance of material available to satisfy that demand.

Our goal here is to address, exemplify, and promote the bare practitioner lifestyle of communal and social nakedness among the GLBTQ+ community and culture, regardless of any individual’s personal prejudices against the transgender and queer+ persons! (To the trumpster-dumpster: that insertion is directed towards you!).

Reality:

Professional actors, models, athletes, film stars (all types of film) have frequently appeared in front of a camera while clothes free (bare, naked, nude, etc.). They are therefore often labelled: “celebrity.” As a class or group they are identified as celebrities. They are also “notorious” (very well-known and easily identified). This often leads to notoriety (fame).

Thus, a “bare celebrity” = clothes free celebrity = “notorious bare” = notorious clothes free! In simple terms, a professional actor, athlete, model or film star (celebrity) famous (notorious) for being (appearing) bare (naked, nude)! In striving to remain neutral and nonjudgemental, we can insert “GLBTQ+” as an identification as it implies a community of persons and a culture.

Ron Derick Johnson, “Lust” tattoo under his neck and eros (love) tattoo on his abdomen!

My spouse, Aaron, and I both endorse the use of professional bare practitioners to visually illustrate and represent the post entries here on ReNude Pride: Guys Without Boxers! As active advocates for nakedness, we are often searching frantically for images that enhance our textual intent. As sexual messages are not included in our purpose, we therefore do not publish material of that nature.

The majority of the actors of the SGL adult film industry (pornography) are bare practitioners themselves. They appear without clothing privately and professionally. Many of them are proponents of their right to be themselves free from any sense of guilt or shame. The problems they encounter from the studios that employ them stem from their assertion of being true to their nature and the conflicts with the management decisions that ignore that prerogative.

This series of post entries here on ReNude Pride: Guys Without Boxers will deal with our site’s practice of featuring actual adult performers within the same gender loving (bisexual and gay) community.

Bare/Dare Series, 2025! #3

Identical siblings!

An Examination and Exploration of Our Community and Our Culture of Same Gender Loving Nakedness! #3

Identical Twins: Double the Nakedness, Double the Fun!

Preliminary:

As promised at the beginning of this series, this final offering for this publication was guaranteed prior to the end of the summer season as my personal perspective. Just a reminder that this post entry also includes that of my own identical twin brother, Alex. Sometimes, the sharing of our ideas, inspirations, memories, reactions, recollections, thoughts, etc., become blurred and riddled with questions. However, the experiences are shared and together as they involve us both – guilty and innocence – together!

We, Alex (Twin) and I, are identical; our births barely two hours apart. Therefore, we share our personal experiences in nakedness – the comfort, joy, and preference for living, as much as possible, our lives without the burden, duty and/or obligation of clothing/concealment!

Footnote: For this series, I use pictures of identical twins from online. Our brothers prefer I not use any from our childhood.

Identical and Serious: together!

Introduction:

Our family name is Poladopoulos and we are identical twin brothers born almost two hours apart. Alex – the “first-born” – is also Deaf, same gender loving (SGL) or gay and frequently confused with me, Roger, the author of this blog and the “second-born” of this twin team!

Our parents were born in the Kingdom of Greece during the time of the German invasion and occupation during World War II. They married and began their family there before immigrating to this country in the early 1950s. Neither of them became citizens here and they returned to Greece in the 1990s. We (Twin and I) have three (3) older brothers and three (3) younger brothers. That makes the both of us the exact “middle-child” in our family.

Our family household being predominantly male has caused many to assume our nakedness wasn’t a major issue.

A very false and unreal assumption!

Our infancy and early childhood progressed along the same pattern as that of our older siblings with the exception of our diagnosis of being Deaf. Otherwise, we were “normal” until our parents and older siblings decided to teach us to properly adorn (wear clothes) ourselves. Our “moment” to establish our true identity! Our joint (shared) “declaration of independence” was upon us!

Bottoms-up! to yardwork!

Reality:

Our initial opportunity to proclaim our self-determination (identity) happened when the decision was made to instruct us on the process of how to dress – put on clothes. At last, a chance to demonstrate (show) precisely who we really are! Twin and I are unable to exactly recall the experience, so this episode is best described by our surviving parent (mother) and older siblings.

The miraculous fascination that Twin (our familiar reference name for ourselves) and I had for learning how to decorate our bodies with clothes was that it also gave us the knowledge of how easy and simple it now became for us to remove (discard) our clothing!

The proverbial adage, “practice makes perfect” was the result of this lesson. Easy to put on, easy to take off! Our parents were amazed at the both of us getting dressed in garments and then removing them immediately! The essence and introduction into our world of “guys without boxers!” No underwear equals no clothes!

Needless to elaborate, but this basic logistic created an enormous amount of frustration within our family household. Our desire for freedom from clothes soon reached epic proportions that continued throughout our childhood. This conflict in nudity versus textile (clothes wearing) was compounded by a communication issue: our being Deaf against the fact that everyone else was verbal (hearing). At the time, the tensions in our family, along with the births of our younger brothers, made happiness and tranquility seem impossible!

Luckily, Twin and I shared a bedroom. Perhaps “identical” is synonymous with “shared!” Soon, our parents conceived of a compromise: we could be naked inside our bedroom if we agreed to wear clothes while elsewhere in our home. Our older siblings joined in this project, and while some awkward occurrences happened, tranquility returned to the Poladopoulos residence.

Footnote: Now, today, as a family, we all laugh when remembering this drama in our lives!

Calm and peaceful!

As we matured, our late Father eventually acknowledged to us all that the “bedroom nudity compromise” was initially considered only a temporary adjustment. Both parents believed we would grow away from this behaviour and the nude insistence was a developmental “phase” of our lives that would eventually disappear.

Our oldest sibling, Nick, (who “came out” as gay while at university), readily admitted to our family that at his young age, he briefly thought Twin and I were “double trouble!” At the time of this incident, he viewed our being Deaf as synonymous with our penchant for nakedness!

Sometimes, a “temporary” compromise affords a very rewarding and significant solution!

A doorway of twins!

As to the communication concern: our family all learned to manually share (sign language) – both in English and Greek! A process that remains underway still today with the addition of in-laws (sibling marriages), nieces and nephews!

Summary:

Life experiences provided Twin and I with an opportunity to explore, firsthand, the world of nakedness. It afforded us a chance to examine and explore our perspectives, reactions and involvement! These same life experiences reinforced, both internally and in reality, our identical appreciation and commitment to nakedness that we both share!

Naked hugs!
