This upcoming Sunday, March 25, 2018, is the Feast of the Annunciation in the various Eastern Orthodox Churches. According to church tradition, it was on this date that the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary in a dream and revealed to her that she was to become the Theotokos (Mother of God) by giving birth to the Son of God (Jesus). Since the early days of Christianity, this date has been a feast day throughout all the apostolic Orthodox churches, which are organized along national tendencies (Greek, Russian, Bulgarian, Syrian, etc.).

First Day of Spring, 2018
For those of us residing north of the Equator, today is the first day of Spring for 2018! For many of us, the days not only continue to grow longer as daylight lingers before sunset, but the outside temperatures slowly begin to warm as well. Change is in the air and around us everywhere! I realize that it’s a little premature to strip off all my clothes and traipse about in nature bare – but that day (hopefully) isn’t too far away!
Eager Anticipation
Usually, by this time of the year, many of us are definitely ready for the seasonal change from Winter into Spring. We are too tired with the dreary surroundings that come with the cold weather. The bare trees, the lack of colorful flowers, the absence of sunshine all combine to make every day seem endless. The cold weather and forceful winds aren’t very pleasant and perpetuate the feeling that the season will never go away.
St. Patrick’s Day
No, today is not St. Patrick’s Day! That date is tomorrow, March 17. I’m posting this in anticipation of the date and to honor anyone reading here who may be Irish or of Irish heritage. St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland and as such is revered by Irishmen all over the world, no matter their particular religious affiliation or lack thereof. To be Irish, or of Irish descent, is tantamount to being a part of the St. Patrick family.
Discipline
By the time that we begin our adolescent years, the overwhelming majority of us understand the importance of having a routine in our lives. This structure allows us to not only plan our day but instills in us a sense of time. For example, I know that once I’m awake in the morning, it usually takes me about 50 minutes to eat my first breakfast, shower and shave my face and head. Then, I’m ready to get dressed (if it happens to be a workday) and then get on my way.
ReNude Pride, 2018
Just as I’ve written here previously, the title of this site, ReNude Pride, is a play on the word, renewed. Just as the Springtime brings with it a renewal of life with the return of foliage on trees and flowers in nature, so to with the Springtime and being bare. In the Spring, for those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere, we also welcome with open arms a return to outdoor nudity as well as a return to nature and living clothes-free.
Bare With Us!
There is one common trait that is shared among almost all bare practitioners (naturists/nudists), regardless of their gender and their sexual orientation. In fact, it is probably the one thing that is universal to the entire clothes-free world. That is our ideal of encouraging our joy and love of nudity, of clothes-freedom, with as many people as possible. This is especially true when it concerns our closest and dearest of friends. For us, it is blatant neglect if we fail to get them to bare with us! We have so much fun when we’re nude that we want the same for others!
Bottoms-Up! February, 2018
Bottoms-Up!
Last day of February, 2018.
As we collectively bid farewell to this month, for those of you living in the Northern Hemisphere, I offer to you this consolation: we are also now saying good-bye to the final full month of the Winter of 2017-2018. When the last day of March comes around, we will officially be in the Spring, 2018! Winter will be nothing more than a memory!
President’s Day Weekend, 2018
Another President’s Day weekend has passed, the last three-day holiday weekend until the Memorial Day holiday in May. This year was no different from the recent one’s here – Aaron (my spouse) and I were invited again to the mansion that is home to a friend of ours who lives in Loudoun County, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, D.C. To read last year’s post on this outing, please click here. As we’re in the dregs of winter, our friend uses this three-day weekend as an opportunity to have his same gender loving bare friends over for an aquatic weekend and a brief respite from winter.
Interview: Andre, LivingClothesFree
Late last year, maybe November, I discovered livingclothesfree, (click to view) a pictorial blog. What initially caught my attention about this site is that almost every post is of the site’s author, Andre Fuller Davenport, doing the most ordinary things while clothes-free. He’s not engaged in some amazing adventure, he’s doing routine activities that any of us do only that he’s proudly and unapologetically nude. There aren’t too many men able to make that boast. Another interesting fact that captured my attention is that he’s a gay nudist, too!
