Arbor Day in the USA

Today, April 28, is Arbor Day here in the USA. It is the day when we again focus on our environment and nature and everyone is encouraged to plant a tree in order to replenish our natural resources. In many primary schools, a special ceremony is held and a sapling (an immature or “baby” tree) is planted and the students are told to “watch” it grow  and are educated on tree-care. The U.S. Forest Service and/or individual state forestry agencies sometimes provide trees for the students to take home and plant in their yards.

Bare Man Blogging

The title may be somewhat misleading, so I’ll begin here by explaining exactly what I mean. I sometimes get emails from occasional or infrequent readers of ReNude Pride, or my previous blog, A Guy Without Boxers, asking do I really write “in the buff” (naked) and what do I write about once I’ve encouraged people to try the clothes-free life. They are curious as to how someone can be a bare practitioner (naturist/nudist), who writes a blog all year long on nudity and have ample subject material.

Happy Earth Day, 2017!

In anticipation of tomorrow, April 22, officially being Earth Day, 2017, I’m sharing some perspectives on environmental stewardship today. Most of us realize that preserving what we have left of our planet is much more than just a one day activity. Conservation should take place on a daily basis in all of our lives so that the wonders of nature that we now appreciate in our lives will be here for future generations to enjoy in their lives.

Naked or Nude?

At first glance, the two same gender loving (gay) bare practitioners (naturists/nudists) in the photo above appear entirely indifferent to one another. The man on the left (Daniel) epitomizes shame, whether because of his nakedness or because of his sexuality (or both), we’ll never really know. The man on the right (Mike) exudes confidence in himself, his nudity and his sexuality. Right? The body language suggests it but are we sure? Do these attitudes determine if they’re naked or nude?

Easter Sunday: Get Bare or Beware!

Today is one of the few years that both the Eastern and Western traditions of Christianity celebrate the Easter holiday on the same date. The Eastern traditions (Orthodox, Armenian, Egyptian and Ethiopian Coptic) generally adhered to the old-style calendars and the Western traditions (Roman Catholic and Protestant) followed the new-style calendars. Usually, the Western Easter is earlier than the Eastern holiday. The icon (holy image) shown above depicts the Resurrection of the Christ, the reason for the holiday.

A Penny for My Thoughts? When Nude Isn’t An Option…

All of us, at some point in our lives, have those moments when we absolutely must wear clothing. Being bare or clothes-free simply isn’t an option. It can be the funeral of a co-worker, going to work or a trip to the dentist. There is simply no escaping the fact that some type of covering is essential for our fulfilling the needs of our everyday lives. Yes, it would be ideal if there was a viable alternative but all too often the rest of society and the world doesn’t cater to our nudecentric needs.

Nude Photographs

All of us, whether bare (nude) or textile (clothed), enjoy taking group photographs of ourselves with friends and/or family. A permanent reminder of a moment in time regardless if it was a year ago or just the past week. For the majority of us, it helps to refresh our memory of a happy time with those who are important in our lives. Many use some of their photographs to decorate the walls of their home: a “personal” decorative accessory to share with guests.

April Fool’s Day, 2017

Happy April Fool’s Day, 2017!

This date, April 1, is universally associated with practical jokes, pranks and foolishness. I’m not exactly sure of the reason and researching the topic has proved to be as confusing as an April Fool’s Day joke. The closest explanation that I can find is that the date first was recorded in English in Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales in 1392. This doesn’t explain the why as much as it offers a historical context for the custom.

Interview: Kenn of “Gay Black Nudist” Blog

Pictured above is my BPM (bare practitioner of the month), Kenn Campbell-Harris, author of the blog, Gay Black Nudist  (click title to visit his site). I discovered his online journal early this past January and he’s a talented writer and a true nude prince! He’s an American and is currently living in Thailand with his husband. Back in January, when I posted my End of Month Reflections (click to view), Kenn gallantly volunteered to grant me this interview. That’s one of many reasons why I consider him a true nude prince!
