Hello Spring!

Warning: Under no circumstance toss away your Winter outdoor gear or warm, snuggly blanket anytime soon! It may be officially and methodologically Spring now, but that fact doesn’t guarantee warmer temperatures anytime soon! Case in point, the second day of Spring had the northeastern region of the USA facing major snowfall, including the mid-Atlantic area where yours truly lives. I had to clean my car off twice: when I left in the early morning to take the subway into work and then again when I left the subway to return home.

First Day of Spring, 2018

For those of us residing north of the Equator, today is the first day of Spring for 2018! For many of us, the days not only continue to grow longer as daylight lingers before sunset, but the outside temperatures slowly begin to warm as well. Change is in the air and around us everywhere! I realize that it’s a little premature to strip off all my clothes and traipse about in nature bare – but that day (hopefully) isn’t too far away!

Eager Anticipation

Usually, by this time of the year, many of us are definitely ready for the seasonal change from Winter into Spring. We are too tired with the dreary surroundings that come with the cold weather. The bare trees, the lack of colorful flowers, the absence of sunshine all combine to make every day seem endless. The cold weather and forceful winds aren’t very pleasant and perpetuate the feeling that the season will never go away.

USA: Daylight Savings Time

Here in the USA, this upcoming Sunday, March 11, 2018, at 2:00 a.m., marks the return of Daylight Savings Time (DST) for the 2018 calendar year. This time change reflects the adding of additional daylight time into each day for the duration of the season. All clocks and watches should be advanced one hour at 2:00 a.m. Thus, 2:01 a.m. becomes 3:01 a.m. This affords everyone with an “extra” hour of daylight daily as the weather outside is better suited to for outdoor activities.

S’Naked!

S’naked is nothing more than a combination of the words, snow naked = s’naked. As the combination suggests, it is a variety of activities that bare practitioners (naturists, nudists) engage in when outside in the snow. It involves whatever activities the men who are s’naked wish to engage in, from snow-ball battles to lying down and creating snow angels. The possibilities are endless and there are no guidelines as to what does or does not constitute s’naked. That’s the beauty of being bare in the snow!

Bad News: The Flu

No matter what our clothing status maybe, bare (naked, nude) or clothed (textile or clothes-wearer), the pesky and troublesome virus known as influenza (flu) often preys on us all. It doesn’t discriminate because of what we do, or don’t, wear. It can, and does, affect all of us, gay (same gender loving), bisexual (dual gender loving) and opposite gender loving (straight) indiscriminately and without mercy. As a health-conscious man, I dutifully received my annual flu shot for this season on December 1, 2017. Less than three weeks later, I was diagnosed with the flu.

October’s Bright Blue Weather

When I was a student in primary school, our teacher periodically assigned poems for all of us to commit to memory in order to increase our comprehension of the written English language. As we were all Deaf, this assignment entailed us to not only remember the English words as they were written, but also their equivalent in our manual language: American Sign Language (ASL). For students who were either ten or maybe eleven years old, this was a very intimidating task and was not undertaken lightly.

Autumn Skinny-Dip

Most of us associate skinny-dipping (nude swimming) with summer fun, which it truly is. However, the first several weeks in Autumn are also conducive to skinny-dipping. It is extremely rare for the season’s to drastically change overnight. For most of us, we live in region’s where there’s usually a transition period of gradually moderating temperatures once the seasonal change occurs. This transitional period varies from region to region as well as from year to year.

Bottoms-Up! September, 2017

Today is the last day of September, 2017. The month began with those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere enjoying our Summer and ends with us now beginning Autumn. For those in the Southern Hemisphere, the joys of Spring are now upon you. Have fun in your period of seasons-in-the-sun! Wherever you live, the reason I selected the lead photo for this post (aside from the subject’s buttocks) is the fact that he’s partially in the shade and partially in the sunlight. To me, it reflects the seasonal transition.
