Twin (my identical twin brother, Alex) and I were both born Deaf. We have never worn hearing aids as our deafness was diagnosed as too severe for them to offer any benefit. Now, before I proceed further into this post, I should add here that deafness is a condition that is found in both our maternal and paternal families. We have first cousins who are Deaf on both sides of our family tree and my favorite aunt (mother’s sister) is Deaf as well.

Friday Footnote: Hate and Shame!
Life can be very confusing sometimes. Just when we think that an issue has been resolved and put to rest, all of a sudden – BINGO – it somehow manages to resurrect itself and raise its ugly head again. The same is true in blogging. I guess this comes with the territory and its merely a fact of life. But this dilemma was one of the reasons that I created the “Friday Footnote” feature here on ReNude Pride – as a space where any of the updates or anecdotes to the blog can be posted.
Friday Footnote: Recent Ton Dou Arrest Update
Another Friday Footnote post that is being published here on ReNude Pride due to a scheduling conflict (my own fault). But then, who knew back when I was planning for this month that bare living would be so demanding? I foolishly thought that less (clothing) would simplify life. Little did I know that the opposite would be true! I should know by now that nothing in my life is ever as it should be! Besides, religiously posting these Friday Footnotes on Thursday does give everyone a true sample of what my life is all about!

Friday Footnote: Bare Dance Party!
It appears as though I’m somehow “caught” with a very cute title that, unfortunately, is creating “credibility” issues for me. I am a victim of my own desire to have a cute and blog that is adored by all, bare and clothed alike! However, as a realist, I know that’s a fantasy projection on my part and I’m willing to accept the consequences of my own delusion. But I do have a post to recommend to all of you reading or visiting here and I refuse to ignore the opportunity!
Thursday Footnote: Ton Dou Arrest
This “Friday Footnote” post I’m publishing here a day early, Thursday. I’ve already composed my “Bare GLBTQ History Month” feature for tomorrow (Friday). Rather than update or trying to re-schedule, it is far easier for me to publish this now. Many of you commented and/or contacted me on Anthony Lynn Douglas’ arrest in New York City in early September at the petition signing for his Bare Body Freedom movement rally in Times Square. He and others were permitted by the New York City to be completely bare at that rally.
Friday Footnote: Bare and GLBTQ Potpourri
There are many blogs that I regularly follow. Some are strictly bare-related and others are are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer (GLBTQ) oriented. Believe it or not, there are even a few that are very similar to ReNude Pride and regularly focus on the same gender loving (gay) and bare communities simultaneously. Often, these excellent publications offer posts that are directly related to articles that have recently posted here. The purpose of this Friday Footnote feature here is to offer everyone reading here the opportunity to read the perspectives of others.
Friday Footnote: GLBTQ Proud Veteran
I remember the day well. It was December, 2010, and the breaking news of the day was that then-President Barack Obama, the 44th president of the USA, had just signed an important piece of historical legislation. When his signature was affixed to the act, the centuries-old ban of allowing gays, lesbians and bisexuals to openly serve in the U. S. military forces was officially ended. Keeping to his campaign promise, President Obama put an end to another chapter in government sanctioned discrimination.
Challenge Yourself! Try Bare!
People have a remarkable tendency to fear what they haven’t yet experienced and to stress over what may or may not be worth the effort. I don’t know why this happens unless it is just an aversion to the “unknown.” We don’t know the outcome so we approach something with dread and trepidation. Funny, we all came into this world not knowing what our respective lives had in store for us. Did that make us shy away from the birth process? If you’re reading this post, then we all know the answer to that question.
A Halloween Picnic
This weekend is the weekend before the Halloween celebrations here in the USA. In the accompanying photograph, I’m posing in my 2012 Halloween costume – a mask with a salmon-colored “clip-on” bow-tie – and, obviously wearing nothing but my natural skin. A very comfortable and enjoyable costume for me. The only stress that I recall encountering that year was in trying to put on the tie that clipped-on in the back. Thankfully I had my then-boyfriend, Aaron (who’s now my legal spouse) to help me get the clip fastened.
Friday Footnote: Summer’s Over
It’s Friday, September 22, 2017. Yesterday was the last full day of the summer season here in the Northern Hemisphere. Those living in the Southern Hemisphere are now welcoming the arrival of their Springtime and heralding in their season of sand, sun and surf. I offer these words of advice to all of you: ” Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!” Have a safe and wonderful time and, if at all possible, bottle up some sunshine and send it our way! Please!
