August of every year has the distinction of being the very last full month of the summer season in the Northern Hemisphere. The transition from Summer into Autumn occurs during the month of September. This somewhat depressing and mundane notoriety for a month of an otherwise happy and joyous season is very deserving of a “special” day to guarantee its continued popularity with all the masses of those living north of the Equator.

How To Become Bare!
Most people, once they’re taught how to dress themselves into clothes, know how to remove them. They do not need an extended lesson and practice in how to take off clothes and become bare. Practically all of us are born with the ability to perform this task and usually are able to perform it without the need of practice and supervision. There is a purpose in publishing this post here today. I’ll explain that purpose after the details on how to become bare.
Surprise Social Nudity!
Social nudity is a term often used to describe a social environment or setting where most, if not all, of the interacting (socializing) persons are voluntarily bare or clothes free. It is not to be confused with a situation where nakedness is mandatory or required whether the gathering or assembly is also mandatory or required. Social nudity is a free choice made by all the participants at the event or gathering.
Bottoms-Up! End of July, 2019!
Here we are again, the end of July, 2019, and a celebration of bare buttocks to mark the passing of yet another month. Where does all the time in between these posts go? For me, it feels like I’ve just completed one Bottoms-Up! posting when another one is rapidly approaching! I enjoy posting the series, I just wish that the time between the deadlines would simply slow down and allow me to catch my breath!

In the Northern Hemisphere, July happens to be the very first full month of the summertime. As the end of this month approaches, perhaps it is time for us who live in this hemisphere to consider our options and make plans accordingly. I hope that a time to skinny-dip (swim naked) is on everyone’s list to accomplish. Just in case, why not get outside, visit the ocean and strip off the swimsuit today!
Solo Time Returns!
My summer daytime returns to a normal routine of solitude this weekend as my friend, Jay, flies back to his home tomorrow. It was terrific having him here this week and the time passed much too quickly for us both. We did manage to read three of the four of John Grisham’s books on our list – “A Time To Kill,” “The The Pelican Brief,” and “The Client.” We didn’t have the time to read “The Firm” so last night we went to a local bookstore and we each bought a copy to read this weekend – me, bare, riverside and Jay while flying home.
Sunshine Reading!
One of my favorite personal past-times of the summertime is always the freedom to read whatever I want in my most comfortable position: bare! It is an activity that can be enjoyed whether alone or in a group of others. It is something that requires very little aside from a book or magazine and a pair of glasses. Of course, sunscreen and a thermos of beverage is necessary and that’s all.
July 14: Bare Practitioner’s Day!
This upcoming Sunday is Bare Practitioner’s Day! Before I progress any further on this topic, I should explain or remind everyone that “bare practitioner” is the term that I prefer to use for self-identification as well as to describe who and what we are. I believe the majority utilize the term: “gay naturist/nudist.” In most social settings, sexual actions are not permitted. That’s the reason I’d much rather be a bare practitioner as opposed to gay naturist/nudist. “Gay” has simply too much sexual baggage or implications!
2019 Nude Recreation Week
The 2019 observation of Nude Recreation Week begins today and continues through July 14. This is an annual event that has been sponsored by the Naturist Society for the past 41 years. It is jointly sponsored by both the Naturist Society and the American Association for Nude Recreation. Author’s Note: The Naturist Society website announces that Nude Recreation Week is July 8 – 14, 2019. The American Association website offers the same event for July 7 – 14, 2019.
USA: Fourth of July!
On this date in 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed. That document ended the relationship between the thirteen colonies and the United Kingdom and established the United States as an independent country.
