Cluttered Closets

Author’s disclaimer: this is *not* a post about closet space that is filled from the floor to the ceiling and from wall to wall with unwanted and mostly unused items. During this early part of the new year, 2019, most, if not all, of us probably would benefit by conveniently losing some of the excess baggage that we have cluttering (overflowing) in our lives (closets). By the word baggage I’m referring to those who we call “friends” even though we’re loathe to spend any amount of time with them.

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

My Father and the Reverend Dr. King

When my brothers and I were growing up, and my parents were still living in this country, I remember my father consistently and constantly sharing with all of us his recollections of the day that he “marched with Dr. King.” My siblings and I would roll our eyes as we had to endure his endless recounting of his participation at the national March for Jobs and Freedom on the National Mall. Even before we understood what exactly transpired that day, we all matured knowing that our father was there.

State of ReNude Pride

As January is my anniversary month of publishing ReNude Pride here, I feel it is my solemn duty as a committed bare practitioner (naturist or nudist), a same gender loving (gay) man and as this site’s author, to deliver a “state of the blog” message to reiterate the purpose of this space and my dedication to upholding my sacred duty. Now, if that very verbose statement didn’t put anyone asleep, in simple terms, this is my time to remember why I do this!

We’re At War!

December is one of those rare months during the calendar year that offers a profusion of holidays. So much for “hot fun in the summertime” as here in the Northern Hemisphere, usually the opposite is true. However, our same gender loving (gay) and bisexual brothers in the Southern Hemisphere have the opportunity to enjoy both the festivities and the warm weather simultaneously! “Go for the gold, Down Under!” You now are responsible for enjoying the season for all the rest of us!

World AIDS Day, 2018

World AIDS Day turns 30 years old today. The very first global commemoration to raise awareness of the HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), the virus that causes AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) was observed on December 1, 1988 – seven years into the struggle against HIV/AIDS. Normally, this type of anniversary would be a cause of celebration. However, the fact that humanity still suffers from this disease is no reason for jubilation. Yes, we have had a few remarkable successes in fighting this pandemic; but the fact remains that we continue to lose both lives and talent.

Tomorrow Is USA: Election Day

In the USA, tomorrow is Election Day. In every voting district, the entire U.S. Congressional House of Representatives is standing for election. In the U.S. Senate, many Senators are also facing their constituents today. It is not a presidential election year (we could not be so fortunate), but we do have a duty and obligation to determine policies and governance for the next two years. Please, do not stand around waiting for others to decide for you. Please get out and exercise your choice for our future if you have not already done so.

Friday #4: Bare GLBTQ History Month

Today is the final feature in this series, GLBTQ Bare History Month, a part of the celebration of October as GLBTQ History Month here on ReNude Pride. As promised in the first installment of this series, this week’s theme is Skinny-Dipping (swimming naked). There are just some things in life that always withstand the tests of both time and generations and skinny-dipping apparently is one of those activities. Skinny-Dipping or nude swimming or natural swimming is one of those bare activities that is enjoyed and practiced all around the world.

Friday Footnote: Recent Ton Dou Arrest Update

Another Friday Footnote post that is being published here on ReNude Pride due to a scheduling conflict (my own fault). But then, who knew back when I was planning for this month that bare living would be so demanding? I foolishly thought that less (clothing) would simplify life. Little did I know that the opposite would be true! I should know by now that nothing in my life is ever as it should be! Besides, religiously posting these Friday Footnotes on Thursday does give everyone a true sample of what my life is all about!

Friday #2: Bare GLBTQ History Month

Today is the second Friday of October, 2018, Bare GLBTQ History Month for those reading or visiting here at ReNude Pride. If anyone missed last Friday’s installment, we’re taking a step back in time and examining photos of what could perhaps be gay/bisexual bare history. Clothes-free men enjoying the camaraderie of being naked together and having fun. Some people mistakenly believe that the practice of going bare (naked, nude) is a very recent phenomenon and don’t realize that humans have been bare practitioners since the beginning of time.
