Somewhere, I guess in a comment on a previous blog of mine, someone wrote…“those lazy, crazy, hazy, days of summer…” and attributed those to a song by the late singer, Nat King Cole. I wrote down the words but didn’t get the name of the song or the name of the individual leaving the comment. But about this time every year, the last of July or the beginning of August, the words somehow manage to find themselves back into my memory. Reflections: End of June, 2018
We are now facing the end of June, 2018 – and the end of another wonderful month of GLBTQ Nude Pride. Reflection means many things to almost every person, it even has multiple definitions for every one of us. The image above depicts three different men holding a mirror. However, upon close inspection, only one image is reflected on the mirror itself. Yet that image isn’t one of the men above. So the question then becomes: Who’s image is it? And that answer we may never know.
Stonewall Riot Anniversary
It isn’t often that we, the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer (GLBTQ) people, have the occasion to mark a historical moment in time. Today is that one special moment upon which our community and most historians agree is the defining event that triggered and birthed the modern universal struggle for GLBTQ freedoms and rights worldwide. On this night, June 27-28, 1969, the patrons at the then illegal homosexual (as our community was then labelled) bar, the Stonewall Inn, located on Christopher Street in Greenwich Village, New York City, USA, rioted in reaction to government’s official discrimination, harassment, intimidation and oppression against same gender loving men and women and set into motion a global civil rights struggle for equality. ReNude Pride This Week
This week is the final week of June, 2018. It is also the last week of 2018 GLBTQ Nude Pride Month. I am making a slight change in my publishing schedule for this week so as to accommodate all the necessary posts that should be covered before we begin a new month. This revised schedule is effective this week only, as hopefully, afterwards, I can return to the usual Monday and Friday posting routine. If anyone finds the time this week, please read the posts here. Friday Footnote: GLBTQ Proud Veteran
I remember the day well. It was December, 2010, and the breaking news of the day was that then-President Barack Obama, the 44th president of the USA, had just signed an important piece of historical legislation. When his signature was affixed to the act, the centuries-old ban of allowing gays, lesbians and bisexuals to openly serve in the U. S. military forces was officially ended. Keeping to his campaign promise, President Obama put an end to another chapter in government sanctioned discrimination.
Is GLBTQ Pride Relevant?
As June is GLBTQ Pride Month, many of my acquaintances ask themselves and others the same question: “Is Pride still relevant today?” I think that many of us ask ourselves the exact same question. What may have seemed radical and trendy fifty years ago – is it just as important today? We have evolved as a society and in many ways being GLBTQ no longer carries the stigma that it may have invoked “back in the day.” With the amount of progress that we have made, “Is pride still necessary?”
June Is GLBTQ Nude Pride Month!
Today is June 1, the very first day of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (GLBTQ) Nude Pride Month here at ReNude Pride. As I explained last year in my first post for the month of June, 2017, as a same gender loving (gay) man, I always combine the gay pride month with nude pride to create our own unique celebration. It’s a month the commemorate the fact that we’re both GLBTQ persons and we’re bare practitioners (naturists/nudists) and equally proud of both of those aspects of ourselves.
Bare With Us!
There is one common trait that is shared among almost all bare practitioners (naturists/nudists), regardless of their gender and their sexual orientation. In fact, it is probably the one thing that is universal to the entire clothes-free world. That is our ideal of encouraging our joy and love of nudity, of clothes-freedom, with as many people as possible. This is especially true when it concerns our closest and dearest of friends. For us, it is blatant neglect if we fail to get them to bare with us! We have so much fun when we’re nude that we want the same for others!
Reflections: End of February, 2018
This post will stray somewhat from my usual “end-of-the-month” review of the state of this blog and any accomplishments relating to this site, nudity and/or same gender loving (gay) concerns. Instead, it is a posting of a noteworthy event in commemoration of Black History Month here in the USA. I’m sure that some of you reading here may ask yourselves, “why is he writing about Black history month? He’s not Black.” True, I’m not black-skinned. However, my husband is African-American and if I am to respect both him and his heritage, then I need to acknowledge and address issues that not only concern him but us both.

Late last year, maybe November, I discovered livingclothesfree, (click to view) a pictorial blog. What initially caught my attention about this site is that almost every post is of the site’s author, Andre Fuller Davenport, doing the most ordinary things while clothes-free. He’s not engaged in some amazing adventure, he’s doing routine activities that any of us do only that he’s proudly and unapologetically nude. There aren’t too many men able to make that boast. Another interesting fact that captured my attention is that he’s a gay nudist, too!
