It was exactly 50 years ago today, on June 28, 1969, that the Stonewall Inn riots occurred in New York City, USA. This spontaneous uprising happened as a result of police harassment of the local gay, lesbian. bisexual, transgender and queer (GLBTQ) patrons at the Stonewall Inn and fortunately, the world has changed quite a bit since then. Here in the USA, such behavior by law enforcement today would initiate not only condemnation and civil lawsuits but other legal ramifications as well. I need to insert here that 50 years ago, the GLBTQ community was known by an entirely different label: homosexual. That label wasn’t always complimentary.

USA: National HIV Testing Day!
Today, here in the USA, is National HIV Testing Day. On this date, the public is encouraged to take advantage of the numerous opportunities, nationwide, to take a few moments and to be tested for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Many health departments, local pharmacies and other health-care institutions are offering free HIV tests to any and all. Many people are volunteering (myself included) to work so that our organizations can offer testing to as many as possible with a minimum wait for results!
The Northern Hemisphere: Longest Day of Sunlight
Today is a remarkable day on this planet known as Earth. In the Northern Hemisphere (north of the Equator) it is not only the very first day of the season of Summer, 2019, it is also the longest day of sunlight in the annual calendar. If that isn’t enough notoriety, today is also World Naked Hiking Day! Thus, in the Northern Hemisphere, it is possible to skinny-dip (swim naked) and to hike bare (clothes free) both on the same day!

What To Wear When Bare?
Many may ask: “If you’re really bare, then what is there for you to wear?” To clarify, allow we to point out that if we are really bare, then there’s one thing left that we all can honestly wear and that item is our smile! Just as Robert Craig, Adrian Hart and Sean Zevran (left to right in the above photo) are demonstrating! Our smile sends a special message to all those we meet!
May Events, 2019
The heading photo and the calendar for bare events for this month are located on the website of Nudist Planet, founded and authored by my fellow bare practitioner and blogging buddy, Kenn. Both Kenn and his spouse currently live in Thailand and for the past several years, he’s published his website as a tool to increasing interest and knowledge of clothes-freedom everywhere for everyone. Reflections: End of January, 2019
This January is my second anniversary here with ReNude Pride although it is the actual third January being published here. This month was a celebration as the second year of publication was observed. In keeping with a tradition I’ve established here on ReNude Pride, at the end of each month I post a commentary on that month and what accomplishments, if any, were made and other pertinent thoughts worth noting. I use this as a tool of keeping readers informed as well as a measure of success.
Do What’s Right!
Doing what we know is the “right” (correct) action isn’t always easy. It’s often not as plain and clear as many of us would like to think. Especially in these challenging times in which we live what sometimes may seem to be the obvious choice is occasionally complicated by outside factors or influences such as situation, participants, etc. This is particularly true when the choices presented to us are accompanied by conflicting values, attitudes and beliefs. The dilemma can and often is never-ending.
State of ReNude Pride
As January is my anniversary month of publishing ReNude Pride here, I feel it is my solemn duty as a committed bare practitioner (naturist or nudist), a same gender loving (gay) man and as this site’s author, to deliver a “state of the blog” message to reiterate the purpose of this space and my dedication to upholding my sacred duty. Now, if that very verbose statement didn’t put anyone asleep, in simple terms, this is my time to remember why I do this!
Before The Year Ends…
Before the Winter Holiday season ends and the New Year’s Eve festivities begin, it is important for each and every one of us to make plans to safely usher in 2019. New Year’s Eve is one of the major party events of the calendar year. Many of us enjoy and eagerly anticipate of welcoming a new year in the company of our family, friends or both. For some it is a custom or tradition and for others it is a reunion and renewal of contacts with those we rarely see.
World AIDS Day, 2018
World AIDS Day turns 30 years old today. The very first global commemoration to raise awareness of the HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), the virus that causes AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) was observed on December 1, 1988 – seven years into the struggle against HIV/AIDS. Normally, this type of anniversary would be a cause of celebration. However, the fact that humanity still suffers from this disease is no reason for jubilation. Yes, we have had a few remarkable successes in fighting this pandemic; but the fact remains that we continue to lose both lives and talent.
