Friday #2: Bare GLBTQ History Month

Today is the second Friday of October, 2018, Bare GLBTQ History Month for those reading or visiting here at ReNude Pride. If anyone missed last Friday’s installment, we’re taking a step back in time and examining photos of what could perhaps be gay/bisexual bare history. Clothes-free men enjoying the camaraderie of being naked together and having fun. Some people mistakenly believe that the practice of going bare (naked, nude) is a very recent phenomenon and don’t realize that humans have been bare practitioners since the beginning of time.

October 11: Coming Out Day

October 11, annually, is Coming Out Day a time for all gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer (GLBTQ) people to open the closet (secret hiding place) door and step out into the world as a proud member of the GLBTQ community. National Coming Out Day is observed on October 11, in the USA and is also celebrated on October 12, in other countries throughout the world. The term “coming out” is used when persons who are GLBTQ take the steps to let others know of their sexual orientation.

Friday Footnote: Bare Dance Party!

It appears as though I’m somehow “caught” with a very cute title that, unfortunately, is creating “credibility” issues for me. I am a victim of my own desire to have a cute and blog that is adored by all, bare and clothed alike! However, as a realist, I know that’s a fantasy projection on my part and I’m willing to accept the consequences of my own delusion. But I do have a post to recommend to all of you reading or visiting here and I refuse to ignore the opportunity!

Friday #1: Bare GLBTQ History Month

A mad and enthusiastic race to be the first man to skinny-dip (swim naked) in the inviting ocean is the 2018 featured image to headline this year’s Bare GLBTQ History Month series during October here at ReNude Pride.  The headline image for the 2018 series of this feature is of a group of men, already stripped out of their clothes and racing to be the first to skinny-dip into the ocean. The last Friday of this month showcases photos of men skinny-dipping, either alone or with friends.

Thursday Footnote: Ton Dou Arrest

This “Friday Footnote” post I’m publishing here a day early, Thursday. I’ve already composed my “Bare GLBTQ History Month” feature for tomorrow (Friday). Rather than update or trying to re-schedule, it is far easier for me to publish this now. Many of you commented and/or contacted me on Anthony Lynn Douglas’ arrest in New York City in early September at the petition signing for his Bare Body Freedom movement rally in Times Square. He and others were permitted by the New York City to be completely bare at that rally.

USA: October Is GLBTQ History Month

In the USA, October is celebrated as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (GLBTQ) History Month. This observance is a time when many educators use the opportunity to share highlights with their students of personalities and events throughout history, both contemporary and from the past, that involved or were affected by members of our community. In some instances, the lives of some of the persons featured are historic simply because of their accomplishments and achievements. This observance helps to eradicate the myth that our community is simply a modern phenomenon.

Bottoms-Up! End of September, 2018

September is a short month having only 30 days instead of the usual 31. I know this yet every year, it seems to fly past without me able to get accustomed to identifying the correct month without a pause to consider. Therefore, it’s time again for another Bottoms-Up! post only this go around, it is the first posting of the season of Autumn, 2018 for us in the Northern Hemisphere and for those living in the Southern, it is the first post of your Spring!

Autumn, 2018

The seasonal change from Summer into Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere isn’t as obvious or pronounced as it appears in the above image. Overnight, the grasses didn’t suddenly fade as they did in the picture but like it or not, the seasons have started to transition from one into the other. Before the passage of many more days, we’ll all begin to notice the thinning of the foliage and the dropping of the outdoor temperatures. The reality is that the days for outside nudity are seriously numbered.

Summer Photo-Blog: Hello/Goodbye

This is one of the few times of the year when I’m able to write a seasonal post that I don’t feel any guilt. During most times, while the Northern Hemisphere on earth is enjoying the Summer, those residing in the Southern Hemisphere are enduring their Winter. That makes it somewhat difficult when composing a post that’s relevant for all readers. I don’t want anyone to think that I’m unaware of their own situation. I guess that’s just an aspect of my inclusive nature.

Let’s Talk About PrEP!

PrEP is an abbreviation for pre-exposure prophylaxis, a medical term for a treatment to prevent the transmission of a disease or infection. For the purposes of this posting here on ReNude Pride, the disease is HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. In the language and literature of the bisexual, men who have sex with men (MSM) and same gender loving community, PrEP is often referred and used instead of the commercial medication Truvada (emtricitabine and and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate). It is a once a day pill that helps prevent the transmission of HIV.
