Friday Footnote: Bare and GLBTQ Potpourri

There are many blogs that I regularly follow. Some are strictly bare-related and others are are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer (GLBTQ) oriented. Believe it or not, there are even a few that are very similar to ReNude Pride and regularly focus on the same gender loving (gay) and bare communities simultaneously. Often, these excellent publications offer posts that are directly related to articles that have recently posted here. The purpose of this Friday Footnote feature here is to offer everyone reading here the opportunity to read the perspectives of others.

USA: Labor Day Holiday

This day, Monday, September 3, is a public holiday in the USA honoring all laborers, no matter what their profession, and the jobs that they perform. The above image is of a landscaper performing his task. Sadly, it is also the final public holiday of the summer season. In just three weeks, the Northern Hemisphere will transition from summer into autumn and the Southern Hemisphere embarks on the arrival of their springtime.

Bottoms-Up! August, 2018

As difficult as it seems, we’ve already reached the last day of August, 2018. Time for our final opportunity to showcase our buttocks for the Summer, 2018. Author’s Note: September’s Bottom’s-Up! feature will be the first of the Autumn, 2018 season. As the guys in our featured gif image (above) demonstrate, there are some serious advantages to climbing up a waterfall. What better way to get “up-close-and-personal” with the gentleman ahead of you? I write from experience when I share with all of you that there are some distinct benefits to being a bare practitioner (naturist/nudist) follower! Same gender loving (gay) and bisexual men can attest to this truth!

Sunshine Stripping

As a friendly reminder to everyone who promised themselves to try outdoor nudity this season, a transition will happen in about four weeks. In the Northern Hemisphere, summer will become autumn. In the Southern Hemisphere, winter will become spring. In other words, time is running out. If you want to keep your promise, the time to strip off those clothes is now! If you wait until the last minute and discover that you really enjoy being bare, it becomes a wasted effort and a lost opportunity.

Let’s Get Bare!

If a man is removing his socks, then you just know for certain, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that he is serious about becoming nude. There is absolutely no way to misinterpret his intentions. This dude wants clothes-freedom right now! If you are in his presence I strongly recommend that you get busy and strip off your gear (clothing), too! Don’t even think about remaining dressed and waiting for a gentle and polite invitation. As promoted in the footwear commercial advertisement: “Just do it!”

Bare Humor

Before any inundates me with negative comments, no, I am not laughing at the fact that people are bare (naked, nude)! Well, yes I am if the situation is funny but as to ridiculing anyone just because they are clothes-free? Never. That’s a very emphatic n-e-v-e-r! Never! But there are times when we bare practitioners (naturists/nudists) find ourselves in predicaments that are strange, unusual and funny! That’s what this post here is all about. The levity of life as a person who practices nudity, whether alone or as a social nudist.

Bottoms-Up! July, 2018

Personally, there is no better way to commemorate Bottoms-Up! for a hot summer month such as July than with skinny-dipping buttocks. It’s the splash-down dive that represents the very best of the entire season – as well as the ideal cooling off solution. It may not represent the diver at his most skillful moment or manoeuver, but it is a compliment to the photographer for being in the right place at just the right space in time. The image is absolutely skinny-dipping (naked swimming) at its best!

Nude Recreation Week

2018 Nude Recreation Week

primarily observed in the USA

July 9 – 15, 2018

It’s that time once again, Nude Recreation Week! It is a co-sponsored effort between The Naturist Society (TNS) and the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR). It is held annually during the month of July in order for the observance to coincide with the National Recreation and Park Association’s (NRPA) celebration of July as Parks and Recreation month. The AANR is a member of NRPA. This is also the month that Americans usually vacation and travel, away from their jobs.

Reflections: End of June, 2018

We are now facing the end of June, 2018 – and the end of another wonderful month of GLBTQ Nude Pride. Reflection means many things to almost every person, it even has multiple definitions for every one of us. The image above depicts three different men holding a mirror. However, upon close inspection, only one image is reflected on the mirror itself. Yet that image isn’t one of the men above. So the question then becomes: Who’s image is it? And that answer we may never know.

Stonewall Riot Anniversary

It isn’t often that we, the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer (GLBTQ) people, have the occasion to mark a historical moment in time. Today is that one special moment upon which our community and most historians agree is the defining event that triggered and birthed the modern universal struggle for GLBTQ freedoms and rights worldwide. On this night, June 27-28, 1969, the patrons at the then illegal homosexual (as our community was then labelled) bar, the Stonewall Inn, located on Christopher Street in Greenwich Village, New York City, USA, rioted in reaction to government’s official discrimination, harassment, intimidation and oppression against same gender loving men and women and set into motion a global civil rights struggle for equality.      Continue reading Stonewall Riot Anniversary
